The Bryan Park upper playground was supposed to reopen Saturday at noon. Its Sunday at 4pm on Fall Break and its still locked up. Bad timing and broken promises.

A request to have 2 small branches cut as they are dropping tons of walnuts on sidewalk where kids walk to Fairview. Tree is at 317 N. Fairview St. Tree belongs to Jane Henderson, landlady, who does not care if branches get cut. Years ago city cut down a Siberian Elm on her property that leaned over street. Reporting as don’t want walnuts falling in little kids heads walking to & from school. THANK YOU. Kay Thorbecke
The grey faux-rock climbing feature at the playground has feces smeared on it. I do not know if Parks maintenance has the appropriate tools to wash it off and dispose of it, but if you do it would be great if you could clean it up. (I try to clean up things I see at the park, but this is beyond my abilities!) The attached photo shows the climbing feature, but doesn't really show the feces.
Blue slide has some sketchy separation here
10/12/25 Dear Parks and Recreation Department, We live in the residential neighborhood just across the street from Upper Cascades Skate Park. This is the second time a large group of cars and motorcycles has gathered there. During these gatherings, the motorcycles and vehicles repeatedly drive up and down Kinser Pike well beyond the posted speed limit, creating excessive noise from their engines and tailpipes. This disturbance has been quite disruptive to our household. We have a nine-month-old baby who struggles to sleep even with our windows closed (which we shouldn’t have to close due to this disturbance), and our dog becomes frightened by the loud popping sounds. If this group has obtained a permit for these activities, I respectfully request that Parks and Recreation notify nearby residents in advance so we can prepare accordingly. If they do not have a permit, or if this is a recurring event, I urge the department to reconsider allowing such gatherings out of consideration for those who live in the surrounding area. This is now the second occurrence; after the first, we had hoped it would not happen again. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
The lower parks area near at the old baseball diamonds smells horrible and has been progressively gotten worse. “Hopefully” it’s just sewage or something but given the unhoused use it I worry if someone has passed.
I don't believe the lights are working along the east side of the Winslow Sports Complex walking/running trail. I think the photocell is out.
There is a bunch of trash next to and under the tree. Someone might be living there. It is near the tennis court
Large pile of trash behind tree south of the B-Line near (former) lamppost 157, between the trail and the railroad and west of the railroad bridge. Most likely an abandoned cache of items pulled from the nearby Opportunity House dumpster.
On the corner of Maria Ct. and Whitely Dr. The trees are overgrown and blocking the sidewalks.
