Hello, I work for a local property manager, Mackie Properties. Our company manages a homeowners association called Madison Park located north of W Howe St, in between S Madison St and S Morton St. I was recently informed that the plants along a section of the B-line just east of Madison Park are becoming overgrown and would benefit from being trimmed. I've included photos of the relevant area, as well as a map of the area outlining the overgrown section with a red rectangle. Would it be possible for the City to trim up this area before the overgrowth gets too big? Thank you very much for your time, and please contact our office with any questions or updates.
Hi - there is a mosquito infestation in the woods between Oaklawn park & meadowcreek. I can see the trail from backyard. There was a cloud of mosquitos. It is a wildlife sanctuary there are what I believe rare birds I do not want it cut down but I want an arborist/ ecologist to assess if pine forests naturally have 2 feet of weeds, vines, underbrush. I googled misquote habitat & it says this exactly. Does the city own this easement ( trail)? If not - is it in city limits & issue a citation? I looked on city website there is a line here so I don’t know if the woods is on city or county side. There is a new disease in America , EEE, that mosquitos carry and it can be fatal or cause seizures. I know Mother Nature does their landscaping. The woods needs to be cleaned out please help my backyard of $150,000 condo is 10 feet away.
On August 21st, I reported a homeless camp at Wapehani Park. It was examined and reported back to me that the camp was on private property. I found this quite strange, because it is on a trail that has a difficulty marker at the beginning of the trail. It totally looks like the other trails in the park and there's absolutely no way to tell it's private property. At any rate, the homeless people have moved on and have left a large amount of trash in what I believe is the park. There are probably 15+ large bags worth of trash - clothes, books, pans, papers, etc. My original report was 165599. I really hope someone will look, because I really don't think what I'm describing is on private property. Thanks for your consideration!
Just want to give a shoutout to the whole parks department on the excellent work with the new south shore trail. Fantastic connection and lots of fun to run tonight. Thanks for all your hard work.
After the north shore trail is complete, I do think it’s worth pursuing a full lake loop in collaboration with IU. A connection from the existing IU RTP to the Lanaam Trail would create a full Griffy Lake loop that would make an amazing trail system even better. It would also become a favorite of every trail runner in the area - a 10 mile loop this close to town would be fantastic!
I noticed on the accessible bump-out that there is a rail to help prevent wheelchairs from ending up in the lake. My suggestion is that all of the bump-outs should have this same safety railing. My son is in a power wheelchair that is more than capable of making it to the smaller bump-outs. Thank You, Douglas Toms
