Just wanted to pass along my thanks for sidewalk repair in Blueridge. The company doing the work, Groomers, has done top notch and quality work on sidewalk repair. I’ve seen sidewalk repair that was sub par, but the work Groomers is doing is the best quality I’ve seen. I don’t know anyone who works for them but wanted to let you know these guys are doing a good job. Thanks
The intersection of Burks Drive and Walnut Street needs to be crossed by pedestrians and cyclists fairly often, but there is lots of high speed traffic on that road. Pedestrians coming from the residential areas around Burks have no way to safely cross Walnut Street. The sidewalk on the east side of walnut is currently closed, but it is missing several sections even when it is open, so you can't even walk along Walnut to the crossing at Rhorer Road. This problem will be exacerbated by the new library branch. Residents east of Walnut will have no way to safely and easily reach the library except by car. There needs to be a light and crosswalk of some sort installed so that it is passable.
Sidewalks needed on Walnut St. Pike between Winslow and Rhorer Rd. There are brief stretches of sidewalk on different sides of the road, forcing pedestrians to choose between making a dangerous street crossing to stay on a sidewalk or to walk in a ditch. Winslow and Rhorer are both pedestrian heavy areas. This issue will only get worse when the new subdivision is built.
the multi use path or trail shown on https://bloomington.in.gov/arcgis/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=f262775229f74b349c853bd13ad86841 which is East Moores Pike between Clarizz and Fenbrook does not exist. People go there expecting one. The sidewalk there is ok but not a multi use path.
The intersection of Pete Ellis Dr./Discovery Parkway and 10th Street is used by residents of numerous apartment complexes, bus riders, and community members accessing the post office and the greenway that goes along 10th St. The intersection is necessary for access to Indiana University from Woodbridge and Fountain Park Apartments, which hosts many graduate students. However, there is no crosswalk, pedestrian lights, or sidewalk platforms to allow for safe crossing along this very busy intersection. Additionally, the traffic lights are not able to be seen from the four corners of the intersection, forcing pedestrians to make an educated guess on when to cross. In short, the intersection is dangerous and near impossible to cross. Would it be at all possible in the future to include a) a crosswalk b) a pedestrian crosswalk light c) sidewalk cutout/curb ramps on the two corners in which there is not one currently? There bad sidewalk on 1279 south sherdian drive and sidewalk short and it need longer to walk on and short sidewalk not safe for public
Walkers need a pedestrian crossing signal and equally important, Pete Ellis road to hospital must complete its sidewalk all the way to this intersection. We walk to the hospital and here must walk in the street, where employees and patients sometimes race home to 10th St., not expecting walkers in the street. Help! It may be IU property that needs the sidewalk. Please muscle them to do so. Thank you!
E 10th street is one of the main corridors for access to the university elementary school, whose district covers all the way to the campus view apartment. However, the hill on 10th street and the lack of a sidewalk nor a safe protected bike path make it almost impossible for students and families to access the school without a car. When students walk on this road, it looks perilous. A sidewalk and a protected bike path (not a painted gutter) would ensure the children's accessibility to the school, which can save a lot of money over the years (reducing the school bus operation)and remove a lot of traffic on 10th street (family driving kids to school).
There is no sidewalk for the church, bus stop, or any of the small businesses on the west side of S. Leonard Springs Road. This road is very busy and while one side of the road is paved, the other side is very dangerous. Please install sidewalks on the west side of S. Leonard Springs Road.
