Following up with case #193627: at least one of the residents at 801 N. Lincoln is driving west on 11th Street from Lincoln (against the One-Way direction) to get to the parking places. Even though it's only a half-block, they should obey the rules because people walk on that street regularly (there are no sidewalks) and they are not expecting a car to be racing toward them out of the blue from the wrong direction. You can tell he has done it when his parked car is angled toward the NW.

Wednesday evening 7:30pm: maroon Toyota Rav4 with New Jersey license plates traveling west on 12th Street turned south on Lincoln (against the One-Way direction) and then speeded to the alley where it turned and parked in the back (north side) of this house. This almost caused an accident, and is a recurring problem with this particular address and vehicle ever since August when the new occupants moved in. Likely an undergraduate, possibly one who is either illiterate or just intellectually handicapped, or perhaps the person simply feels entitled to break Indiana driving laws (maybe there are no laws in New Jersey), but more likely it is just an inconsiderate, self-serving, and dangerous person who disregards rules that s/he deems inconvenient and someone who needs to be held accountable. Please do something about this - pedestrians (human and otherwise) rely on the manner and direction of traffic to be consistent and are not expecting vehicles traveling at relatively high rates of speed and headed in the wrong direction.

My husband and I frequently have to use this intersection to make a U-Turn to go back West on Third street. 99% of the time, people will not yield to the sign that says to yield to the U-turn and/or they run red lights from there or off of westbound 3rd street traffic. We have lost count of the many times we have came extremely close to getting hit and involved in an accident. Just the other day we again attempted, with our green arrow, to make a U-Turn and just when I began, two (both Westbound lanes) ran their red light and went straight; ironically with A State Trooper sitting right beside us! Traffic on W. Third has gotten way out of hand. We have constantly seen vehicles running red lights (many times two at once) not only there but all the way back to the W. Third and 69 bypass intersection along with improper lane changes that nearly hit us. We are scared and stressed to the max each time we go to out. Can someone PLEASE help?

This one way street has driver's going the wrong way in front of a school on a daily basis. Student safety is compromised by this frequent violation.

People treat this traffic light as an optional stop sign. Even if the light is solid red (not blinking), if cars have seen a pedestrian finish the crossing or don't observe a pedestrian they continue through this red light. BPD could set up in the switchyard parking lot and rake in $ from all of the traffic violations here. More enforcement and maybe making the light always green (unless a pedestrian is crossing) would force car traffic to better respect this light. No one takes it seriously as is and I have seen multiple bikers/skaters/walkers almost get hit as they make the cross when the crosswalk is still clearly lit up.

All Stop signs and speed limit signs on Henderson St., from Miller Dr. to 1st Street seem to be invisible because no one ever heeds them. I would think Police presence would help, but perhaps public works could do something to convince motorists that this is not a major, high speed artery. We have a school, a park, and many pedestrians.
Yesterday (4/8/13) I saw a car, traveling 40-50 mph, narrowly miss a college student at the bus stop by Blacks Lumber. Also two children have been hit in the Templeton School zone this year. This is a problem.

On 10th St during the rush hours, drivers going straight will often swerve into the right turn lanes to go around drivers who are turning left and waiting for a break in the traffic. This is dangerous and I had an close call once when I was going to turn right onto Pete Ellis and a driver in the straight/left turn lane swerved into my lane to get around the car in front of them. This is also dangerous since a driver turning left doesn't expect oncoming vehicles in the right turn lane to go straight.
I'd recommend a traffic officer be present during the rush hours one day to ticket people who do this so people realize that this is not acceptable.
Thanks for listening!

Speeding on Winston Street, Hyde Park
Cars just zoom down the hill from Winston to Sare Road. Can the speed limit be enforced? There are small children who play in this neighborhood.
