Hello. I am a Bloomington resident residing at 110 1/2 W 6th St. My apartment entrance is in an alleyway off of 6th between Walnut and College. While this alley has normal amounts of debris, there seem to be many unsafe wires dangling from the various poles and buildings. My main concern is with the alley behind my building. The entrance is off of Walnut between "Btown Diner" and "Samira" restaurants. There is an abundance of trash, grease, vomit, bugs, defecation, and cigarettes throughout the space that causes a repulsive smell and attracts many rodents. This is a very unsanitary environment that workers from the businesses(restaurants especially) on 6th Street take their breaks in. I am not sure the best course of action but I would suggest having the businesses clean their trash bins in addition to having the city power wash the grease and other various fluids off the pavement. An Airbnb, located at 723 W Allen St., is claiming city property as private property. The land on the west end of the park located at 1126 S Fairview St., is being rented out as a parking lot and used to store vehicles, dog kennel etc. Altercations have occurred when children and dog walkers attempt to access the area as the adjacent property owner claims that it is theirs because they maintain it (mowed the grass). The neighborhood would like to see this green space no longer rented out and used for personal storage of one individual.

The city has removed a recent encampment by the corner of Wylie and S Walnut. The person camping and blocking the sidewalk along the wood fence by the second house from the corner on the north side of Wylie has been allowed to remain despite having built a permanent campsite with increasing belongings for many weeks now. This campsite is used daily including overnight which is against city policies.
