In light of a lot of recent attempted home invasion activity along this block, having street lights in the alley between 10th and Cottage Grove is a necessary safety measure. It is incredibly dark in the alley and a perfect target for home invasions.
I am unsure this is a city issue, there is was looks like a n old landline access panel or junction box on 5th st. that is next to the road (maybe in ROW) that is unlocked and now open. See the picture.
Constant banging. Occured all last night and is starting up again tonight. Noise is excessive.
Details: Just off E Third Street in front of house 213 Overhill, there is a big orange sign "Right lane closed ahead". The sign has been there for months, while there seems nothing going on ahead. Did they forget to take away the sign after the construction was done?!
The alley behind our house does not have any lights in it at all. Not only does this make it a bit unnerving and dangerous to walk there at night, but it also makes it a very easy target for unwanted visitors. Last night, one of our bedroom windows was broken in and when we looked out back, we were not able to see anybody running away since there are no lights in the alley way. By adding a few lights to the already existing utility poles in the alley way, it would hopefully prevent similar incidents from happening in the future and make it much safer for all of the residents that use this alley on a daily basis.
The back of our house was broken into a couple of nights ago (all doors locked and while we were all home) and we feel as though if the back alley was more lit up it may have deterred the suspect from approaching our home. There was also a very similar situation of an attempted break in last week two houses down from ours. It is extremely dark in the alley, especially with the wooded area being back there - perfect for people to hide in. We would feel a lot safer if lights could be installed asap. Thank you.
The streetlight at 4th and Lincoln is burned out. When I get to work in the morning it’s very dark at that corner and doesn’t feel safe walking in from the back parking lot to the church

There are several street lights in the vicinity of the Baptist Church (maybe the name has changed) which is near the intersection of Woodscrest and 3rd Street that are not working. Could 3rd street in that area be driven at night to take a total tally of the lights that are out between High Street and College Mall Road? Hello, At 7:30am, someone began jack-hammering the sidewalk immediately outside my apartment window at 222 N College Ave. There are several apartments facing that sidewalk at this location, and it is directly across the street from the Hilton Hotel. In other words, since many people may be trying to sleep in this area, it seems a bit unreasonable to start something so loud before 8am. Thanks for your attention to this matter.
