Hello. I am a Bloomington resident residing at 110 1/2 W 6th St. My apartment entrance is in an alleyway off of 6th between Walnut and College. While this alley has normal amounts of debris, there seem to be many unsafe wires dangling from the various poles and buildings. My main concern is with the alley behind my building. The entrance is off of Walnut between "Btown Diner" and "Samira" restaurants. There is an abundance of trash, grease, vomit, bugs, defecation, and cigarettes throughout the space that causes a repulsive smell and attracts many rodents. This is a very unsanitary environment that workers from the businesses(restaurants especially) on 6th Street take their breaks in. I am not sure the best course of action but I would suggest having the businesses clean their trash bins in addition to having the city power wash the grease and other various fluids off the pavement. Since the dismantle of 2 homeless camps last week they seem to have migrated down the b line to a wooded area in a residential area within a block of a boys and girls club, and 3 blocks away from a middle school. between 11th street and cottage grove ave on Summit st. The city just towed a few abandoned cars from this street a week ago. Now their is more cars that people are clearly living in. They are setting up tents and seating areas like its their living room, theirs tents popping up in the woods along this road, and the TRASH and SMELL is getting out of hand. This is becoming a safety hazard for children who walk home from the school and boys and girls club in the surrounding areas as this is a school zone. The people residing in this "camp" scream, argue, fight, and curse loudly at all hours of the day and night. They block traffic loitering by the cars and scream at any car that tries to get through them, and have animals who are leaving droppings everywhere and no one picks it up. This is also encouraging people to start parking rv's in this area as well, and it is turning into "skid row". PLEASE do not let this camp get set up and get as bead as the two you just dismantled. It will be harder to get them to leave the longer you wait to address this. I have found several syringes in my yard along the alley so their is clearly drugs being used and distributed at this new homeless camp on SUMMIT st. in between 11th st & Cottage grove ave. Right across from the gas station on 11th. thank you.

There is a syringe along the road about half way between 6th and 7th on Oak street. It is right across the street from the very large sycamore tree on the west side.

New street lamp on SE corner of 12th/Lincoln is WAY too bright, much brighter and whiter than the normal orange-ish lamps on other street light fixtures in the neighborhood. This one emits a lot of glare, blinding drivers as they attempt to navigate 12th Street, and causing pain if one happens to look directly at it. Worse, it casts light far beyond the actual intersection, flooding the houses in the vicinity with unwanted light all night long, preventing people from enjoying their porches in the evenings and early mornings. If the City refuses to switch the light to a normal soft light that can be tolerated, it seems reasonable that the light can at the very least be shaded so that the intense glare is only directed downward rather than flooding the neighbors' homes in all directions with unnatural, unhealthy, and offensive light. A similar lamp was recently installed at the 12th/Dunn intersection. The people who live near that intersection are probably experiencing a similar, unwelcome annoyance.

Details: Just off E Third Street in front of house 213 Overhill, there is a big orange sign "Right lane closed ahead". The sign has been there for months, while there seems nothing going on ahead. Did they forget to take away the sign after the construction was done?!

Re: Case #165561 Some debris from the accident remains near the RR underpass. Trash and weeds are still on Adams, and on Fountain, and on 8th Streets. Streets near the university at least get swept. Can the City seal the streets, so the weeds won't grow?

I would like to ask the City of Bloomington to begin considering steps to put ordinances, rules, regulations on these Bird Scooters that have infiltrated our city. I have seen almost every person riding in violation of the safety rules the company urges. There have been two people on a scooter, all of them without helmets, and riding on sidewalks/all over campus. They are getting parked on campus bike racks, cluttering up side walks, and generally are unsafe and without any kind of ordinance in place, could only cause potential risk to both car drivers, pedestrians, cyclists etc. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45596449 There are known deaths on these modes of transportation. Indianapolis enacted an ordinance after unsafe crashes had occurred. Bloomington needs to be aware of the risk and make stations for these scooters with agreements on proper use.
