The water company is a monopoly that runs itself like its the 4th Reich. They offer zero assistance or help, unless your unemployed and not trying to better yourself at all. If you just quit on life and being productive, then the city helps you. If your a hardworking man, that fell on hard times due in no fault to himself, that guy can kick rocks. His only option is to pay his bill in full or else. The water company actually put a lien for 200 bucks against a paid for home worth 225,000! My family has had 3 or 4 generations of perfect bill paying with water company. Just my gma, dad, mom, aunts and uncles have paid city of bloomington water for well over 250 yrs combined, and that garners you zero good will or even common courtesy. They can't even acknowledge they're screwing you over and be polite. They know they're the only game in town so they treat people like crap and it's not ok.

What is the City doing at Parcel No. 53-08-16-300-046.000-009? The property address is listed as 3410 S Walnut St, Bloomington, In 47403-4523. There is activity occurring on the south side of the property closer to W. Gordon Pike that involves what sounds like an excavator with a hydraulic jackhammer attachment endlessly breaking rocks. It went on for 6-10 hours Monday and Tuesday this week, and is continuing today. Is this a short term construction project with an end date, or is the City planning to do this in perpetuity for some reason?
Debris Removal (Sand, General Street Debris)

I am one of the Utility Dept. volunteers checking and clearing storm drains in Sycamore Knolls. I and my fellow volunteers having been clearing storm drains at the intersection of Queensway and Montclair, Queensway from High to Montclair, and Sussex Dr from Queensway to Montclair. We have been making piles of plant and street debris near some of the drains. They are now getting large and because of their mix of plant and asphalt debris cannot put them in the weekly waste pickups. Would it be possible for a city street crew to remove these piles near the following locations? North sides of the Montclair and Queensway, Southside of the Chelsey and Queensway, and Sussex Dr. near 1912-1919 and 2216 -2219
Thank you

The apartment construction by Varsity properties on East 19th Street has caused an excessive level of dust on the road. Whenever a vehicle drives by, the dust becomes airborne. In addition, the dust also falls on to nearby vehicles, causing a significant amount of scratches and inconvenience.
No effort has been made to clean up the street. It is especially disgusting to walk on when it rains.
Blocked Street

I forgot to report this at 10pm last night when I observed it. I have not gone by this morning to see if it is still an issue. But, as of yesterday, S. Rogers Street was a mess from the construction site. It was covered in gravel and mud. It was very dangerous in a car and would likely cause bicycle and motorcycle accidents. They apparently do not have a tire washout station setup because they dragged the mess into the road and made it everyone else's problem.

1 year after my yard was flooded with mud, this retention hole behind my house is still unfinished and full of weeds! Recently in July they dug up pipes they had installed, and they are still lying there.... who is responsible for finally finishing this mess and mowing the weeds down? I dread another heavy rain and my yard filling with mud again... Please have the people who are responsible finish construction of this area and maintain it properly! Thanks , Dave Reid 812-363-3049

We are contacting you with hopes of getting some advice regarding the storm water stream that runs along E Vernon Ave in Matlock Heights neighborhood.
There is a storm/ rain water stream( path) that runs under N Dunn Rd , goes west on E Vernon Ave and under Fritz Dr and eventually goes into a larger creek.
Over the past few years this pathway has been deteriorating with some of the road erosion happening right before the water goes into the culvert under our driveway.
The previous owner of our property added some rocks and blocks but it does not solve the road erosion problem.
We are needing guidance and help since we do not know how to address the erosion and also the public road. Our hope is to have this issue addressed before the Raining season starts. Thank you !

Drainage or Runoff

There are multiple areas of stormwater runoff and pooling occurring on my property due to the development and ensuing increased runoff produced by the adjacent property at 910 N Madison St.
My observations of increased water on my property come from regrading of the property to be higher than mine, a capped drain, building on the N-S alleyway that used to serve as a way for runoff to flow to the street, and redirection of water onto my properties via gutters, tubing, and installed drainage flows that direct onto my property on the north and northeast side of the 910 N Madison property. This has caused flooding in my basement, yard, and driveway that was not there prior to the redevelopment of this property and the vacation of the alley.
I have more photos of where the stormwater drainage from this property is deliberately directed onto my properties, but am not able to upload them here due to the limit of one photo.
All of lots surrounding this home are now on the market for development at an increased density. My concern is for my current situation and for the increased drainage issues that will come from further densification without mitigation to protect me and my surrounding neighbors.
I would appreciate someone to come out to my property to see the current situation and drains installed by the City that are not functioning to protect my properties at 317 W 14th and 920 N Madison from damage by stormwater runoff.
