A cover for a water or gas line continually pops up in the street. If cars should hit it, it could cause tire damage or more. This has been reported previously but has not been resolved.
A cap for water access has been coming out and creating a possible problem for drivers. I have reported this a number of times and fixed it many times, including this morning. The next time, I'll take the cap home so that it can't cause problems.
Serious erosion at the corner of Robon's Bow and Winston Street.
Sidewalk on south side of W 17th just east of tri north construction entrance covered with mud again. I can't overemphasize that the sidewalk itself is serving as a culvert to drain several acres and this problem will not go away on its own when the construction crews leave. I'll try to remember to come out here with a ruler when it rains next week to record the depth of the creek. Kids will be using this sidewalk to walk to school even on rainy days and their shoes should not be completely submerged!! We are going to look into this today (5/17). We believe that a soil stockpile and a storm drain with inlet protection is not allowing water to flow into the storm drain. We are going to investigate again and see if we can identify the exact issue.
Part of the city-maintained Hunter footpath between Eastside Drive and Mitchell is submerged by an overflowing spring that has flowed under the footpath for more than 30 years of my personal experience. The pipe which carries the spring under the footpath is apparently silted up and needs to be reopened. At present, the foot path is impassable for pedestrians due to the amount of water on the path.
The Hunter footpath (maintained by the city) between Eastside Drive and Mitchell is starting to get flooded again by a spring that has resurfaced. If nothing is done, it will become a breeding place for mosquitoes in the summer and an icy path in the winter.
northbound bike lane on rogers between 8th st and b line (part of the detour). i found a CBU detour sign partially blocking this bike lane and i carried it down to their construction site at the b line. then i encountered this storm drain, which is at least 3 inches below grade, from poor milling practices when the road was resurfaced last year. these partial obstructions make the bike lane more technically demanding than it should be. not a fair substitute for the all-ages all-abilities b line.
From Old Indiana 37 to 11th Street (especially under the railroad viaduct), the bicycle lane is obstructed with piles of debris – some large and some small. I request that you have a street sweeper drive the whole length.
