Many neighbors and I use the sidewalk on the east side of S. Henderson St., opposite BHS sports fields, between Wylie Farm and Graham Roads, but I am writing to report that the trees and other growth next to it have become a nuisance and need culling/trimming back. First of all, much thanks for the Community Kitchen Express location at the corner of 11th & Monroe Sts. One of the problems is the trash from the meals, littering the field across the street from this location, all the way down the alley that is parallel with Summit in between Summit and Monroe (it is hard to see all of the trash with snow on ground, so did not include pics). Also, at the corner of Summit & 11th St (parked on the east side of Summit) there are at least 2 trucks constantly parked there, FULL of trash (some in bags)- where there is often gentlemen 'scrapping' items for metal, etc. This trash overflows into the neighboring lot, through the neighborhood. Can Parks & Rec place several trash cans next to the Community Kitchen Express w signs asking those who use the service to PLEASE throw away trash, instead of throwing it on the ground? Picnic tables in the field would offer a place for them to sit & eat, & trash cans next to them would encourage them to dispose of trash properly! As for the "scrapper trucks"....I'm not sure they even live on this block- I've heard that they live in public housing (across the street) but have been kicked out of parking those vehicles there...???
icy sidewalk, not shovelled; runs from High Street to Nota
704 W. 4th St. The sidewalk is front of this house is ridiculous. They never shoveled or salted, and it's been almost 2 weeks since it snowed. Someone is going to get hurt. They shoveled up to their front door, and I know someone is home.

No snow removal by businesses on South Walnut Street: 1) The business building that is 409 S. Walnut; 2)Two lots south from there the boarded up building between Top 10 and the smoke shop that used to be a car lot; and 3) Sahara Mart's Walnut Street side in the 500 S. Walnut block. In fact, Sahara Mart's parking lot snow has been plowed onto the sidewalk. Saw all this last Thursday 1/3/13 when I walked there.
