The sidewalk along High Street just south of Hillside has been closed on both the east and west side of High Street, with no consideration for pedestrian traffic. Couldn't some consideration been given to pedestrians here?
Please see attached photo. This location is at 10th and Park and has been reported to the IU Grounds Dept. as a tripping hazard. The gray bucket is there to indicate a bus pickup for the Boy Scouts that are in town but the metal and the sandbags are blocking the sidewalk, our crews moved the items off the sidewalk and into the homeowners yard. On July 20, 2018 I sent a request to this department regarding an accessibility / safety issue related to a sidewalk and crosswalk (Case #165230). It was opened by Melissa O'Neil on July 20, 2018, but I was never notified of any consideration taken. Might it be possible to have a response provided from someone in the department?
Hi. After witnessing my third or fourth car accident in the past six months at the exact same intersection (when walking on the sidewalk every time), I would like to request the installation of a traffic light at Longview and Pete Ellis. This intersection, only two minutes from my house, is undeniably dangerous and (I am 99% positive) fatal at least once. The faster traffic on Pete Ellis doesn't have a stop sign, so when cars on Longview turn, it is hard for them to detect those fast vehicles. I have almost been hit crossing the street it is that bad. Today, December 22nd, a friend of mine was seriously hurt in an accident at that intersection.Despite the costs of a traffic light and the work it will entail, I do not want to risk my life and my friends' lives and the lives of other citizens anymore. I might send an additional, more detailed letter to the mayor if this does not go through. I sincerely hope you consider this proposal. Thank you.
400 Block S Jordan has heavy pedestrian traffic and many houses that have not cleared snow at all from sidewalk (403, 405, 409 S Jordan).
walks not cleared 333 highland. note:They clear their own walks but not sidewalk?!
403, 405, 409 S Jordan - again, no snow clearance on the sidewalks of these rental homes. Other rental agencies in the block do a good job of clearing snow. This section of the block is heavily travelled by pedestrians and needs to be cleared. It stands out from the rest of the block that is cleared and is dangerous.
Jordan Square strip mall does not clear the sidewalk by the intersection of 3d and Jordan. Dangerous to walk through the crosswalks.
914 E University does not know that they need to clear their sidewalk of snow and I have not been able to catch anyone to tell them. Please let them know about our snow r Emoval ordinance.
