Catherine Pierce (goes by Cathy) called in to complain about her neighbors parking in front of her ADA accessible ramp that is in front of her home (on the Fairview Side). The neighboring area has the Rock Climbing facility and they are often blocking her ramp and she cannot get out. A year has passed since I wrote this (closed case #188144): 'The orange barriers along the sidewalk on S High Street between Wimbleton and E Meadowbluff Ct still have not been removed and remain a big eyesore. I was told that Duke Energy needs to do something there before they can be removed. I bet it has been 2 years now that those barriers have been there. Isn't it time that Duke did what they need to do in order for them to be removed?! The, by now faded, barriers are still there a year later. When will this eyesore disappear?

In Spring/Summer 2023, utilities contractors excavated a hole approximately 3x3 in the sidewalk that crosses the driveway for our home located at 3702 E Reed Ct. Bloomington IN. They were installing fiber optic or another cable -- AT&T or GigaBit or some other contractor. This hole was filled with dirt and then they "fitted the broken concrete pieces" back in the hole. Needless to say, it sank about 4". Then they poured concrete on top of the hole. They then ground down the edges to even out their work. It was a poor job and it is now unsightly and a serious tripping hazard. I've seen city workers replacing sections of sidewalks in Hyde Park and elsewhere. I would like to request that this section of sidewalk be added to the list of sidewalk repairs/replacements. Please let me know if you need additional details. Thank you for addressing this issue.

The company that installed this created a hazard that could cause an injury when someone gets out of their car etc. This should be removed and filled or fixed.

Large shrub (bush honeysuckle?) at NE corner of lot has grown so much that it is now difficult to pass using the sidewalk on Cottage Grove. The property owner/manager (sign in yard says "Thatcher Real Estate") never shovels the sidewalk in the winter, but maybe the snow/ice complaints submitted to HAND earlier this year never made it to them. Probably good to be more proactive about this report, since the shrub is not going to just melt on its own like the snows did...

There is a tree/shrub along the sidewalk growing low foliage that is blocking the line of site when you are turning left onto 2nd Street from Lincoln Street.

Section of the sidewalk on the east side of High St. is consistently underwater. Once the standing water drains, a thick coat of slippery mud is left. The specific location is just north of the hill heading south on the sidewalk. Thanks! John

The sidewalk on the NE corner of Forrest and 11 is not accessible. It has a severely steep grade and bank (one corner is much higher than the opposite). I would not travel along the block on the North side of 11 between Forrest and Walnut Grove because of it.

At the Corner of S Clarizz and E Goodnight Way there are new curbs installed so that you can cross the road. There are major apartment complexes on the west side of Clarizz blvd that use this crossing area frequently. As Clarizz Blvd is quite hilly it is extremely dangerous to cross in this area, often you cannot see traffic coming and traffic does not stop as there is not a formal crosswalk here. It would be great if you could install a painted cross walk at minimum for a crossing like this.
