They had to cut out some of my driveway and dig up a bit of yard, but I am trusting they'll get things taken care of and repaired. Staff was courteous in explaining the situation and is still outside hard at work. Hopefully we all get some sleep later tonight.
Overgrown trees block stop sign on Kenwood and make it impossible for cars turning left onto Kenwood from Dunn Street to see traffic on Kenwood. Also overgrown trees along Dunn force people to walk in the street - combined with need to pull very far forward on Kenwood to see traffic this has led to 3 close calls (car+car; car+car; car+pedestrian). I thought I submitted in close call but never got uReport number. Perhaps my error or wrong category. Please help prevent accident & take action now that you are aware of the issue. Thank you.
As you may know, the cable installers are back at work in the Winslow Farms neighborhood (after leaving it uncompleted for well over a year), and they are inflicting significant damage on properties. We came home to find piles of dirt and rock, a new ground box not flush with the ground, and significant damage far up into our lawn from their boring machine--way beyond the utility easement. Further, their work is damaging sidewalks-both cracking the concrete and pushing it up to create tripping hazards. They were rude to our neighbor who confronted them about these issues. Further, they indicated that they were going to trench back between the houses on Azalea, across the conservancy area, to Bayberry. I would like to talk with someone from the city about this excessive damage, how far back onto our property they are allowed to bring their construction equipment before it becomes trespassing, what is an acceptable expectation/timeline for repairs to our lawn, and what sort of plans they may have for trenching back between our houses and across a conservancy area. They posted announcements of their work AFTER they began and a neighbor complained. Reported by Joanne Freeman to me. Unfinished AT&T fiber project started last summer has left exposed conduit, foot-deep holes and sand fill in rights of way (meaning grass doesn't grow). She wants City inspectors to contact Michael or Sharon Dalton who are the property managers for the subdivision to get this situation addressed. AT&T has been unresponsive to neighborhood contact. Fiber construction contractors (AEG?) were in our neighborhood (Sycamore Knolls) at the start of October. They've since moved on, but left open holes and piping sticking out the ground all over the place. These were visible, but with the falling leaves they have become numerous trip hazards spread throughout the neighborhood.
Substantial disregard for property keeps occurring with whoever is laying fiber on E. Morningside. Water main burst at 4021 E. Morningside Drive. CBU dug up my yard to do repair. Please confirm that will be fixed by CBU via spring planting season for grass, etc.? The fiber team, if you can provide me contact information for a complaint if possible, was driving their truck through my yard today again including over areas CBU dug, causing significant depressions. When called out when I went out front a few minutes ago, they asked "What damage?" before I had to point it out and they said they would fix. A truck remains driving back and forth in my front yard at present. I am tempted to call the police. They are beyond any sort of easement, which they are abusing to begin with. This is getting ridiculous.
I live down the street from a construction site which is consistently incredibly noisy very early in the morning. I have reported this construction site for noise violations before, and the problem was, for a time, resolved. However, the problem has started again as they are once again beginning work early in the morning (around 5 a.m.) which, I am aware, is well before the time they are supposed to start even staging for their operations. I am an IU grad student and I need to be able to rest. I am aware that my neighborhood is in a rather defunct part of town, but people still live here and need to be able to function as normal. The prior uReport was finalized by saying the issue was mitigated. I walked by this morning and it hasn't been mitigated. The missing sidewalk is on the west side of Sare Rd about 200 yards south of Moore's. It's across the street from the Verona Coffee shop. Recycling dumpster blocking sidewalk south side of building (Uptown Plaza)
Recurring problem. See #184772, #177627, #184699, #184577, etc. Actual address not clear, as it is on the property line of two lots. Plants are overgrown into the sidewalk along the south side of Cottage Grove just east of Grant Street. Pedestrians need to use that side of the street to avoid the fraternity in the apartment building on the north side of the street.
