There is a giant machine outside out my apartment for construction work. It is the week before finals and it starts making one of the loudest noises I have ever heard at 7 am. It’s ridiculous and don’t see why they can’t start at 9.
Most all of Maple Street is marked as No Parking, except a short distance before it intersects with 11th street. 2-3 cars consistently park in that short distance, fully occupying the right side of the road. Cars turning onto Maple from 11th cannot see when a car is approaching the intersection on Maple, and the cars on Maple are forced to stop on the opposite side of the road, causing near miss accidents daily and excessive honking. I would like to request that the “No Parking” zone be extended all the way to the stop sign as all residences (including the apartments in the photo) have designate parking areas. The intersection is also frequented by school and city busses, causing even more danger.
Complaint of insufficient and unclear construction signage. Is making it difficult to get into parking lot where she works and sometimes forces her to take one way streets the wrong direction in order to access parking lot.
The construction at the corner of 11th and Walnut of the new apartment building has left this area of Walnut hazardous and capable in inflicting vehicle damage even when travelling slowing, especially the utility cut across Walnut which has not been filled in to be even with the road surface. This is the same type of problem that existed at 11th and Rogers but is horizontal across the street instead of diagonal across the intersection. The problem at 11th was fixed but this one needs attention ASAP to prevent damage to vehicles and subsequent claims to the city for that damage. There are also breaks and holes and bumps in the pavement at the crest and going down the other side towards 12th street and so on. Hello, there is a massive issue with drivers running red lights and stop signs in this city. I have marked a particularly bad intersection (Madison and 11th), however this issue is city-wide. The included intersection has a wall on the bridge that prevents vehicles from seeing around the corner to 11th street, which often means that people just roll right through the stop sign. I've been almost T-boned at this intersection multiple times, and I genuinely fear I may die there some day. I have already been hit once by someone ignoring traffic laws on Third Street, and have almost been hit on foot and in my vehicle countless times downtown. It has gotten to the point where I am afraid to travel around the city. There should be traffic cameras on the stop lights, and more aggressive fines to deter these people casually ignoring safety and traffic laws. I understand that it is hard to enforce stop signs, however I have witnessed (on multiple occasions) police patrol vehicles allowing people to run right through 4-way stops, and some even do it themselves. People are learning that there are absolutely no consequences for driving recklessly around the city, and it has gotten noticeably worse. Please, consider taking action about the extremely unsafe traffic situation in our city.
Truck trailers partially blocking the sidewalk again. First, thank you to the Engineering Department for getting the business to move the truck out of the way of sidewalk when the sidewalk was the official pedestrian route around the Duke construction across the street in August 2023. Thank you! The problem reappeared this morning, now with a second trailer. I am sending this uReport to the Engineering Department, since you were able to get a remedy quickest last time. But please forward this uReport to Parking Services if that will get a remedy sooner.
I live at 627 N Monroe St Bloomington IN 47404. There is a truck that has been parked across the street from my door for weeks now. It showed up when the new fiber internet company was installing and they haven't been back for weeks now. I'm guessing it's theirs but I'm not positive. No one lives in the house it's parked next to. I do not have a driveway and I've been parking in front of my house for years now. With this parked there it is unsafe for me to park in my normal spot because traffic cannot get through safely. I also don't believe a truck like this should be allowed to just sit if they don't live in this neighborhood. I am forced to park farther down the street and this doesn't seem fair to me since I actually live here. Is there anything that can be done?
My neighbor has let her excessively overgrown weeds turn into trees that are on the roof of my house. I want her to take care of the over growth along our property line.

The bushes alongside the east side of Fairview have grown out and over obscuring the 'no parking' sign. Over the past two years, there has been an increase in commercial vehicles (tree trimmers/landscapers) as well as delivery trucks thinking it is okay to park in front of a stop sign on a slight hill. This is obstructing the view of the intersection and creating a dangerous situation when vehicles are forced into oncoming traffic to pull around the stopped vehicle. Combine that with the reckless drivers who are speeding on 13th street, oftentimes taking the turn from 13th to go south on Fairview at very high speeds, and the result is a dangerous situation. Please improve the line of sight. Thank you.
