The attached referenced utility cut on W. Park Square Dr. is dangerous and is a traffic hazard. Other people in the area have complained this could cause a flat tire or a vehicle to loose control. This morning,1/11/24, the flat tire occurred immediately after passing over this area. Propper fill needs installed to alleviate this hazard!
Received by email from Resident: The Park Ridge park is receiving increased usage these days. It's a great park with wonderful amenities and we are very proud of it! We monitor it carefully to be sure all is in good repair, the grounds are litter free, and we interact with City staff as they visit to maintain the park. As a result of this usage, parking has become an item that needs closer attention and management. With two residential homes on the circle with driveways, occasionally the two driveways are occasionally partially blocked; at least to the point where the residents of the two homes are challenged to enter or exit their driveways. Suggestion: would you survey the circle area and consider placing stripes to designate parking spaces? This would insure if vehicles park within the designated spaces, blocking driveways would not be an issue. One resident has medical needs and occasionally requires emergency transport. Additionally, please consider a yellow "do not park" grid stenciled to mark the walk/bike path entry off the circle. This area is often blocked by parked cars. The result is walking or biking around a vehicle to use the path. If a person in a wheelchair wished to enter the path (at the bottom of the hill), they are unable to access the path if a vehicle parks in front of the entry.
111? E. Kirkwood: Some sort of restaurant runoff (floor cleaning water?) is dumped from behind Opi Taylor's/Malibu. This goes on year round, but creates a sheet of ice in the winter (as it is today). The water runs/ices in front of an empty lot, so no one deals with the sidewalk. It's approx. 111? E. Kirkwood, just past the alley behind Book Corner, just at the start of the parking lot next to CVS. I originally reported this in 2017, I guess before it was cold. ureport#161324 and I was told it was runoff from an AC unit, which I think we can be sure is not the case in today's weather. I'm a daily walker from the near westside to campus. This is an ongoing problem. I really would like someone to just take some responsibility for either the initial liquid or the ice that results. I have spoken with Public Works and Planning & Transportation previously but i would like to put it out there again since there has been a lot more progress on Union at Crescent. I would like to put in a request that N.Oolitic Dr from the rear exit of Union at Crescent to W.11th St be rebuilt with widening and curb/sidewalk combos to full ROW width. In addition, i still request that the intersection at N.Oolitic and W.11th be turned into a 3-way stop (signs, not lights.) I truly appreciate serious consideration of these matters and I will work with the city in any way I can, within reason, with my adjacent property. Thank you.
The Bloomington traffic database reports 5 multivehicle accidents at North and Henderson in 2018 and 2019, all of them shortly before the 8AM start of class or after the 3PM end of class at BHSS. None were reported for 2020 when BHSS was online for most of the year. NO accidents are reported on the neighboring intersections of Henderson and E Miller, or Henderson and E South Rd, both of which have stop signs. To anyone who drives there, this is a much more dangerous intersection than the majority of intersections where 4-way stop signs have been installed. Indeed when one first uses the intersection one expects 4-way stop signs based on the usual Bloomington pattern for roads with prominent crosswalks, which makes the absence even more dangerous. Please fix this before my daughters start driving to high school next year. I'd prefer they walk but that intersection is even more dangerous for pedestrians.
I've seen dozens of drivers speed through this Walnut corridor, from 8th St to 12th St, in excess of 40mph. There are pedestrian crossings at 8th and 9th that are completely unusable. Motorists like to speed through the straightaway since there are three lanes. This area needs traffic calming measures to protect pedestrians.
It wouldn't let me reply to this message for whatever reason The object in the street is a boat hitch half of the bow and the hitch is in the street. It's literally 2 ft end of the street like I said before my daughter's almost hit it other people is almost tennis
The sidewalk that runs along the west side of North Kinser Pike btwn Acuff Road and Rosewood Drive is overgrown with shrubs/grass. It is becoming very difficult to walk on the sidewalk. The main problem is closer to Rosewood Drive.
The stop sign is blocked at the intersection of N. Woodlawn Avenue & E. 17th Street.
