While riding my bike on Weimer Rd.; I've noticed on two different occasions the strong smell of sewer gas. A Sewer gas smell to me means either there is effluent top side or there is an over flow into waterway. (Or I suppose something else) but there a definite issue. Exact location is post bridge on Weimer's south end heading toward Tapp Rd. It is also just past the mid point of bridge to Tapp Rd. points. Yes, I know there has been a lot of rain that contributes to these kind of issues, but being that the creek eventually "dumps" into Monroe Reservoir ( our drinking water) Thank you for looking into this. For the entire 12 years we have lived next door to our neighbor, Roger Reading, 2403 N. Browncliff Ln., he has left piles of trash and inoperable cars on his property. We have asked him many times to clean it up, and he occasionally has complied, only to resume using his driveway and surrounding area as his open trash can and junkyard. He fills the unused cars with trash, throws trash on the ground (sometimes right next to trash and recycling bins), animals get into it and spread it around, etc. The current tally of neglected cars is 6--one in his open garage, surrounded by garbage, and five in his driveway (part of which we share as easement to Browncliff). I was once also in his home as per his invitation to help him locate a waterline break. It is also filled with trash and is in a state of utter disrepair. The one photo you allow me to attach does not come close to doing justice to the extent of this mess. We are tired of allowing him to affect our sanitation and property values. had plastic in another container aside from red recycle bin...did not have recycle marking on trash can...did not get picked up though. Mr. Wiley was very nasty to all office staff when he phoned in resorting to foul language.

Laura Lee form the Parking Dept., came in to let us know that the Post Office contacted her in regardes to citizens putting down gravel to make a parking pull of at 2408 E. 4th St. The Post Office is having trouble delivering the mail to this area due to the parking. They want the pull off measured and then the residents notified that they can no longer park there.

Mrs. Cynthia Becker called about mistreatment of juvenile son, age 17, by police officer. She did not elaborate on disapproved conduct, but mentioned that she would have wanted the police to contact her or her husband about son's behavior. Council Office sent complaint form to her.

There is a big piece of steel rebar sticking out of the sidewalk near the eastern entrance to 2427 E 2nd Street. It's become a safety issue for cars and pedestrian as many kids walk through there to get to the elementary school. Unsure if since it's an IU office if it's IU property? Thank you for investigating and potentially resolving.

Resident reports excessive trash buildup and trash strewn across properties at Dollar General and CVS Pharmacy off of South Walnut. Resident has contacted both companies and was told to call the Office of the Mayor.

I have seen on multiple occasions in the past two weeks many small rats and large mice running about in the parking lot at the old post office building, across the street from the downtown church and bus stop. This problem should be addressed as soon as possible so that the rodents do not venture out and make homes for themselves down the street (where I live) and towards our beautiful downtown and 4th Street. Rodents are unsightly and, more importantly, a public health hazard, and I would hate to see them get out of hand. Thanks in advance for taking action on this issue.

There is a tree down on Tapp Road (post-storm on the afternoon of 6/25/2024) blocking two lanes of west-bound traffic. This is at the corner of Tapp Road and Vanguard (where it crosses between World Wide Automotive Service and the medical offices for Hospice House, Summit Urology, etc.).
