I would like to complain about all of the rain outs at the Winslow baseball fields when there is no active rain. Games are being canceled by the city when the Smithville and Ellettsville leagues are still playing games. Both other leagues have people on the field clearing water and putting down quick dry every day while it appears very little effort is given to clearing water from the Winslow fields. Having city employees work on the fields or allowing volunteers to do so would make a big difference.

The drinking fountain needs attention. Drain plugged on one side and water spraying out of fountain too hard to get a drink.

Games canceled again tonight even though there has been no rain in 36 hours. There were no attempts to work on them yesterday to remove water so they could have a chance to dry out today.

I completely understand that weather is no one‘s fault, but we need to find a way to protect the Winslow baseball fields from rain. My family and many others have paid for the Bloomington junior league baseball Association season and we are now going on the third consecutive night of canceled games. Only field three appears to have standing water. Can you all please work to find a solution to maybe cover or tarp the infield so they do not get waterlogged and the games can be played. Thank you for your consideration.

Case# 188472 Sorry, The problem is at the Park Ridge Park, Longview Avenue and North Glenwood Avenue West. Someone familiar with how the drinking fountain works could possibly fix it quickly. It appears the drain is clogged on the lower of the two fountains and the water pressure when you press the button to activate it, is too high! So, if you could have someone take a look at it and make the needed adjustments, that would be great! Thanks, Warren

There are two very large and deep muddy puddles in the large dog park area at Switchyard. One is located by the large tree in the center of the park, and the other is located by the sitting area under the green awning. My dog recently got into the muddy water, ate and drank it, and became severely sick for several days. After speaking with several dog owners at the park, this has happened with their dogs too, so it is definitely a health hazard. It is very difficult to keep the dogs away from these areas. This does not seem to be a problem just after rainfall, but most of the time. I ask that they be filled with gravel or fenced off to allow for regrowth and to keep dogs away in the meantime. Thank you!

Parking Permits

Case Date:
8/15/2018

I'm an IU senior who lives on 217 S Lincoln in town. My apartment doesn't have parking for all of its tenants this year, all nearby garage lots are full, and monthly parking lots are being rented out by the local churches and businesses. I have tried for weeks to find a parking spot even remotely close to my apartment and hoped that The City would be able to issue me a Zone 9 permit since that is the closest zone to my apartment (within blocks). Today I was turned away and told "you either live in the zone or you don't, so there are no other options." I am incredibly appalled that The City has no means to help and is not willing to accept the money of a county citizen who is in a desperate situation to find parking. The City doesn't have to care about my specific situation or plight, but it should care about the well-being and security of the masses. I know I am not the only person in my neighborhood who is having such an issue. Parking should be an essential living item--like food, water, and shelter. Adequate and nearby parking is quite often a NECESSITY in order for people to get to work, to keep their jobs, to earn an income, to visit their families, to maintain a routine. It is senseless, unorganized, and uncivil for The City to claim to put such an emphasis on city parking yet not provide a zone for all areas of town NOR allow a resident to receive a permit for the closest zone to their residence. Come on, Bloomington, who are you helping if you're not out to help everyone?
