The street light on the corner of Berkshire and Sherbrooke Drive has blown over. Post has snapped off at base and light is totally smashed!
My office is at 804 N. College. There is an alleyway just south of the office that runs from College to Walnut, and there is an alleyway that runs from 11th St. and dead ends on the Walnut to College alley, just behind my office and where the parking lot is. I usually use the alley off 11th to get to my office and also to leave, because it is much safer than trying to get out on College. There is a huge (and I mean really, really huge) "pothole," which I think is a big hole left by some construction crew (there are student apartments off that 11th St. alley) that really needs to be addressed. I hope you can send someone out to look at it, and get it fixed.
Post repaving work has not been completed. Westbound turn lane markings never completed. Low quality center lane markings have washed or worn away in 2 - 3 weeks, so west bound vehicles that should be turning south on Henderson, do not realize they are in a left turn lane ( no painted arrows) and attempt to continue west on Hillside, then cannot see any center lane markings, and nearly crash into cars on Hillside waiting to turn north on Henderson in that left turn lane. Can't believe BPD patrol officers or someone who works at 1981 S. Henderson has not noticed?
IU Grounds employee found a 25 speed limit sign by bus stop on Fee Ln. Just the sign, no post. The sign can be picked up at 2222 E. 10th Street. Thanks Jill.
I've been trying to email griffy.boathouse@bloomington.in.gov to do boat rentals but every time I send an email it gets bounced back with the message. We moved into a new house in Hidden Meadow in May of this year, and after 6 months we still do not have a street sign. Our address is 5274 N Filbert Drive, Bloomington, 47404, our street name is N Filbert Dr. This is a safety and liability concern, if emergency vehicles – fire, ambulance, or police had to find one of the houses on our street, they would be unable to, especially since our street still doesn’t show up on Google maps. The thought of something bad happening to a member my family or to me and knowing that help might not find us is very unsettling. We’ve waited for 6 months and still no sign. I'm not sure who to contact, and whether it is the city, the planning department, or the developer who is responsible for street signs, but I'm hoping you can help me figure out who I can contact - if it isn't your office. So I've talked to you guys before about this issue how you guys have the timing for the traffic lights set up and of course you know you guys basically said all their set correctly but here's the issue all over town and multiple times a day I have to travel various places in town for my job. And you guys have the signaling set up to where you come to a stop at one red light and it goes green and the very second you arrived the next stoplight doing the speed limit it turns red it's really bad on West 3rd Street but specifically the portion of town that I have to drive through half dozen times a day from Miller Street to 2nd Street you literally have to stop every single traffic light because you guys have set the traffic signaling to make you stop at the red light. Having lived a lot of different places this is something that's very unique to Bloomington you know I'm sure you're going to tell me that's the way it's supposed to be which in turn means that you just wanted to turn people from driving but it's straight bullshit on a busy road like that that northbound traffic or southbound traffic you guys have it set that way West 3rd Street you literally have people having to stop in the intersection because you guys want to play games!! Yeah it's funny because when I called the mayor's office they acknowledged that the timings were messed up but said they would defer to you people
Part of a sign post that was knocked off by some sort of car crash. The remaining post fragment is very sharp. If someone tripped on top of it, serious injury could result. On the west side of Union St just south of 5th St.
There was a High Water sign put up at Indiana & 6th, the IU Grounds dept. picked up the bracket/stand but the sign was gone. The bracket is here at our office at 2222 E. 10th Street, can be picked up M-F, 7am-3:30pm. Thanks Jill.
