Trash
2420 S Rogers ST
- Case Date:
- 8/23/2021
There are homeless encampments steadily increasing in number behind my house and those of my neighbors. There are now several in view of my windows. The amount of trash is staggering, including countless hypodermic needles. Trash is regularly set on fire by the residents of the encampments, producing noxious smoke that smells terrible and is surely not safe to breathe. The city needs to do something about these encampments. Open air drug use within feet of neighborhoods with young children should not be tolerated. I've been a resident of Bloomington for a decade and I'm strongly considering moving out of town due to the city's inability to address this issue. Please do something.
Property appears abandoned and doors are open on ground level.
thought to be unsafe structure
extension cord running between two houses (2305 and 2311), no utilities on at 2311 (a rental property)
concerned property is being used by homeless and for drugs, claims it's unsafe
This building is falling apart and occupied. The gutter fell off the front of the roof 2 years ago and has never been replaced. Since then the roof has started to fall apart. You can see this from the street.
two buildings on the property look vacant and are crumbling. In the satellite pic you can even see the hole in the roof on the building on the left. The middle building looks like a hoard and I'm confident the owner doesn't live in it anymore. Last week the mailbox was knocked over, then trash was all over the yard. There are missing windows, visible trash inside from the road. The barrier around the middle trailer is now broken is several places, leaving the underside of the trailer open to neighborhood cats. I worry for the people living in the single viable traier.
Unsafe building. House is falling apart. Gutter, roof and siding.
This house has been abandoned for several years, with a collapsing roof, broken windows and doors, and many animals living on the premises. There are now people and many domestic animals living inside this building despite no renovations being completed. City Utilities have also been disconnected. This building needs to be condemned by the City as it is not a livable unit and has become a disruptive part of the Broadview Neighborhood.
