The main electric wire from the pole to this house has been hanging low for nearly a full year after a limb fell on the wire and pulled the wire holder attachment anchor out of the house structure. We (Chickering Rentals) own and manage a rental next to this property at 1006 e 1st, and the electric wire for 1002 e 1st is hanging low enough to touch in our back yard and creating a hazard. I alerted Duke and they informed me that they cannot do anything to re-hang the wire until the property owner at 1002 e 1st re-mounts the wire holder anchor, or installs new service mast. I attempted to reach out to the owner of 1002 e 1st to ask them to make the necessary repair and was unsuccessful. Not sure if the city can do anything about this to help. The Golden shear barbershop has recently passed over new ownership. The establishment and owner have been unlawfully operating without any legal licenses. The owner and barbers have been giving services to the public without proper training and ever obtaining a license through the state barber board as required. This matter is very important and serious as without the proper training diseases such as hepatitis, HIV, or other infectious diseases can spread. The use of the razor blade and the lack of training in sanitation and chemical control can be a danger to the public. With many students entering the establishment there’s a risk with the spread of these diseases. The city of Bloomington should hold this business up to standards and make sure they get barbers license and state board approval to operate.

The curb is broken. The pieces are in the front yard of the adjacent property. I think the volunteer raingarden might be a better use of the space than a new curb. Less than a year since the concrete sanding / beveling was done, one more sidewalk square needs it. As to the beveling itself---looks bad and won't weather into something better. Safer, yes.

Time to update this to indicate what the switch is for. Maybe update the wood post into something that looks less temporary. At least paint or stain. At best replace with a metal post.

We cleaned the ditch between E Southdowns Dr and E Sheridan Dr. The debris has been stacked at the intersection of S Ballantine and E Sheridan Dr. Would the city parks dept please set a date for pick-up? Thank you. V/r, Mark

dead possum in road for 4+ days and starting to have a foul smell

Road has gotten extremely deep potholes over the past year and residents are worried that during the winter cars will slide down onto the main road. Last winter potholes were not as deep and cars still slid into the main road almost causing collisions multiple times. this is the only exit for many houses as it is a one way road.
