Hello. Last May the property next door to me was sold to a couple currently living in Maine. They apparently plan to build on the lot but due to Covid-19 have had to postpone the project. I emailed the couple asking if they had someone to mow the property and I take it that I upset them because the lady didn't reply to the question and had someone put a no trespassing sign on the lawn. In the meantime, the grass is getting very high and I am concerned about pests coming onto my property from that...snakes, mice, rats, groundhogs, fleas etc.... I really didn't want to go this route but it makes my property look bad and I am concerned about the well being of my yard and pets.

Please please make masks mandatory or demand the health department do so. I'm not sure who has authority on that. But 100 people at Switchyard Park tonight at baseketball court crowded without masks. Maybe 50% at stores, at best, wearing masks. This isn't enough to prevent deaths. We must do better and guidance and hash tags aren't enough. Workers, even city workers, are up close and personal without and we are terrified of what will happen when students come back. We've been lucky, other than the one nursing home, but that can change in an instant once an outbreak comes. Now is the time for decisive leadership. Please make this moment the right one for Bloomington.

Mayor, can you please do something about the empty big box Kmart on the east side? We shouldn't have a vacant store and lot for so many years. It underutilizes land, is a blight, and it could be so many great things. A hotel, affordable housing, restaurants, a small park, ideally all of the above. There is so much attention paid to the old hospital, Switchyard, and other areas, but how about this massive piece of concrete? Please put some resources into it. Thank you.
