I checked and cleared storm drains on Sussex and Queensway yesterday afternoon and removed debris, except those two near High St that have filters to prevent construction from the new "trail". This morning with the help of a neighbor cleared the Sussex drains. I then cleared those on Queensway. The problems of separation of the present layer of pavement on Queensway and knowing there was a potential of heavy rain from the present on later storms today. I piled a significant amount of loose pavement with the debris at the south drains at the intersection of Queens Way and Chelsia Court. incase of heavy rain today. Also all three of these drains have a significant amount of eroded pavement below the drain's grates. Thus these debris may in the future become plugg the storm drain.that goes down just past Sussex Dr and result in potential stormwater flash flooding as in June of 2007 that damaged my neighbors property.

Storm waters last night caused a substantial amount of damage to Sussex Drive. Large pieces of asphalt have washed into the gutters, leaving lots of damage all along the street, but primarily at the lowest point.

While you likely know that the new retaining wall on the SE corner of this intersection has collapsed due to flooding, you should note that there is a huge sink hole next to the storm drain on the SW corner of the intersection, in the grass. We placed some stakes around the sink hole to draw attention to its location. My other concern is that the culvert under High St may have been damaged (or now susceptible to further damage) but may not be easily noticed. An engineer should check it out, it's a dangerous situation overall.

Last night (Friday, 19 June), I removed several mats covering drains on Queens Way at High St, just south of Wimbleton on High St, and on Arden near High St. They are part of the Jackson creek Trail Phase II project - but given the immense rain, they were causing dangerous street flooding (several feet high). They will need replacing.

Due to the rain yesterday, my basement has flooded and many others in Winslow Farms have as well. There is not enough drainage in place to handle the water that comes to my immediate area with a heavy rain. I have a storm drain in the backyard between my home and the neighbors. This drain is not sufficient to deal with the water for this whole area. Many times during the year in heavy rains, this drain gets overwhelmed and we get a large pool in backyard. Unfortunately, this time, the water rose to a point where it entered into my basement and I am now dealing with many thousands in damage. It seems that someone from the city needs to come analyze the drainage situation in this area of Winslow farms and some additional drainage systems or drains need to be added. As commonly done when the storm drain is cleaned they dump the debris into the yard which ends up killing the grass I was told that when they clean the drains they're supposed to take the debris with them. I'd appreciate it if they would I've been fighting keeping grass growing here and when the water goes fast if there's no grass growing it takes the topsoil. Thank you

If a house owner piled things in their driveway and use the public street for parking, and the other drivers have to drive on the other side of the street to get around. In case any accident happened while driving on the other side of the street, who will be responsible? Could city give this person a suggestion to clean their driveway for parking and make the public street a save place to drive? This situation happened in Park Ridge. Thanks for your attention.
