College Mall Road & Eastland Plaza. Citizen states pedestrian can't be seen walking from Plaza across College Mall Road to the Mall. Bushes obstruct view. Also, new sidewalks need to allow cars to drive around the curve not up over it. Pedestrians waiting to cross almost get hit by cars coming up over the curve.
I'm trying to understand the new parking meter policies and find conflicting information. At this webpage: http://bloomington.in.gov/documents/viewDocument.php?document_id=1938, the metered hours are from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. On the Parking Fact Sheet (downloaded from the website) says metering hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Am I misinterpreting something or is there an error in one of these locations? In the Tree plot on 4th Street at 4th & Grant. NS side of street, hole is 8" long, 4" deep, and 3 to 4 inches wide. It is 9 sections of sidewalk west of Grant, just before the 1st new parking meter.
Pile of yard waste half on sidewalk, half in street in front of house 112 E First for about a week now.
How sad parking meters have been brought back to bloomington. I will not be shopping the downtown stores.
On Tapp Rd traveling east, I noticed on the North side of the road, just prior to Rockport intersection, that the Pre-stop sign warning is blocked from view by vegetation
Curtis [Gilstrap] (not sure about the last name) was so helpful when I visited Rose Hill Cemetery last Wednesday (31 July). I knew the section numbers, but not the plot numbers for several family members. He stopped to ask if he could help. He located the plot numbers for me, directed me to them, cleaned some mold off one of the stones, took a picture for me--I had my camera, but to get a proper picture I would have needed to get down on my hands and knees, no longer possible for me! I also learned a great deal about the cemetery and its inhabitants. I don't think I told him how well-kept the cemetery is. He really seemed to care about the cemetery and its visitors and inhabitants. Please thank him again for me. Sheryn Peters
Hello, I'm a frequent user of Bryan Park, and I'm concerned about the city truck that is being driven across the park from Henderson and Davis to the public restrooms every evening around 9 pm. so that the driver can lock the restrooms for the night. The truck travels diagonally across the playing fields, even if there are people playing or sitting on the fields, drives along the footpath and pulls right up to the restroom doors. I'm concerned because the truck is being driven fairly quickly in an area where there are children walking and playing (last night a mother was leaving the restroom with her toddler when the truck pulled up to the doors), and also because the grass appears to be showing wear and tear from all of the vehicular traffic. The driver does not appear to require any equipment heavier than a key to lock the restrooms, so I don't understand why he feels the need to drive right up to the doors. This truck traffic affects so many people's quiet enjoyment of the park. I wonder if the employee could be asked to park his truck in the lot at Henderson and Allen and walk the few feet to the restrooms, instead of driving through the park? Thank you!
I was walking along the B-Line Trail yesterday when I spotted a patch of dodder about 75 sq. ft. in area. It was located at light no. 32, in the Switchyards. This stuff is terrible once it gets going, but if you contain it now you'll save yourselves an awful lot of heartache in the future. If you need additional info, feel free to call me at 812.929.1513. There is a large pothole on South Basswood Drive about 10-20 meters south of where it intersects with South Muller Parkway.
