Received email from the planning dept. The uncontainered trash bags around the back wall of 809 S. Fess are an increasing nuisance on our block. When I complain to the students, they clean up the alley a bit but do not put out their trash weekly. The raccoons, rats, ect. get into it and carry bits of garbage around the back alley, where my toddler and I like to walk. This week is a typical example of what is lying around back there. The stated goal is to develop the downtown as a walkable shopping destination, and there is significant new building esp. on N walnut and college, but the transportation infrastructure sucks for peds and damages the commercial property values. not a single ped xing on walnut/college between 11th and 17th!!
