Potholes, Other Street Repair

3304 W 3rd ST

Case Date:
3/19/2026

Hazardous pothole, large enough to cause damage to vehicles. I would know, I’m filing this report as I sit waiting on a tow truck for the blown out rear tire I have from it.

Trash

420 E 6th ST

Case Date:

I was eating breakfast at the Runcible Spoon yesterday. Saw this garbage, not a good look for a beautiful building. The other houses next door look terrible too. Is the landlord doing demolition be neglect?

There are wires hanging down from the pole in front of 1745 S Olive. Not sure who to contact. Was just one, now several and a bird nest is falling out of a container that is connected to some of the wires at the top. I have no idea who to call. Kids live in this area and I am concerned about them pulling or hanging on the wires. Do not know if they are dangerous wires or not. Thank you, Maggie

Sidewalk Requests

1666 Liberty Dr

Case Date:
4/1/2026

North of the Constitution a long Liberty Drive there is only a sidewalk on the east side of the street, and the BMV is where the last crosswalk is. Pedestrians are expected to only need to access the east side of the street where the car dealerships are, but have no sidewalk or crosswalks to get to services such as IU Health, the dentist, or Goodwill where many low-income people shop and work. To cross the street from Menards to go to Goodwill, cars are not expected to slow down or stop for crossing pedestrians without any markers and there is a bend in the road there. You could walk along the grass, but the terrain is uneven and would be dangerous if there was mud or snow, and anytime after dark, and it stays dark in the morning and gets dark early in the evening during winter. I truly believe that the west side of the street needs a sidewalk north of Constitution and the last bus stop, and there needs to be crosswalks on Liberty between Constitution and West 3rd Street north of the last bus stop. If there were a sidewalk on the west side of Liberty, bus riders could choose getting off the bus near Kroger and walk the length of the sidewalk or use crosswalks, or get off the bus where Liberty meets Constitution and walk. Thank you for looking into this.

Nuisance Lights

48 Knightridge Manor Apartment

Case Date:
4/1/2026

There is a very bright white light on a utility pole about 10 feet from our apartment and bedroom window. A large pine tree had previously been blocking much of the light, but a tree crew cut down the tree and now the light is shining directly into the window. I think this could constitute a light violation. Could somebody please check out this light?
