faxed 6/24/02/Dirk-FYI: Missed pick-up/yard waste: Yard waste not picked up on Fri - was stickered, no notice left. She will leave out on Fri 6/28 again. Please let know w/notice if there's a problem Thx.
My trash/recycle was not picked up this past Monday since a car parked too close to the containers. Sanitation person said she would arrange a pickup om Friday. NO ONE PICKED UPI MY TRASH. I contacted them again and the switchboard person said she would email them to call me. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. I contacted the Mayors office and the recording said to leave a my phone # to receive a call back. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. I understand there are phone problems but it should not mean that the residents of this city should be neglected. Regardless of the phones, my trash should have been picked up on Friday. I would like to speak to someone in charge, not some underling that will blow me off. My number is 812-327-2949
Mr. Carrico upset b/c he's being charged $10 fee to adjust a bill. He's happy $45 adjustment is being made, however it seems ludicrous when it was CBU's negligence in the first place that led to the original problem (water line leak, CBU read meter but never notified them until too late). Also, he is upset that CBU says it's open at 8am, but whenever he calls (which has been frequently) at 8am no one answers. He feels that customer service should be available at time given on recording.
OLD BLACK METER PIT CRUSHED WHILE MANN PLUMBING WORKING ON WATER SERVICE, WANTS NEW PIT DELIVERED
Mr. Carrico recent water bill was 3 times the normal rate. He later learned that Utilities had a list of people whose water bills increased drastically. Mr. Carrico is upset that no one informed him as soon as this was noticed so he could look into the problem. After he was informed, he called a plumber and it will be several days before they can work him in. He would like an adjustment to his bill.

METER PIT TOO LOW, WOULD LIKE RAISED TO GROUND LEVEL
Ever since the city installed curb bump-outs for on-street parking some years ago, drivers have been blowing out tires and ruining wheel hubs at the southeast corner of Maxwell Lane and South Fess, usually as they are driving south on Fess and turning east onto Maxwell. I know this issue has come up before, and various solutions have been tried, but something more substantive needs to happen -- either reduce the projection of the curb or get rid of the bump-out altogether. I would estimate 15-20 drivers a year hit this curb. Yesterday, it happened twice. One driver was lucky and just blew out a tire. The second had to call a tow truck, which we see over and over again. Each driver thinks he/she is the only one to do this, so they don't think to tell the city. Please do something to fix this problem. It's costing people time and money on a regular basis. Thanks!
