There is a homeless camp behind our subdivision, Shady Acres at 708 S.Cory Lane. They have been walking through here to access the main roads. This is a small subdivision with probably 60% widow and/or single elderly women. We are requesting help in getting this camp removed. Thank you. Susan Scales 812.219.5738
There's a person riding a gasoline powered motorcycle or bicycle or similar contraption up and down the Rail Trail just about daily lately. It's very loud and goes too fast for a pedestrian and multi-use trail. I've seen it numerous times between Gordon Pike and Country Club on the rail trail. Just one of the many problems and dangers the city allows to continue on the trail since the homeless camps on city property on the trail have swelled in size. Those camps need to be cleared out immediately for the safety of all trail users.
There are two loose dogs in our neighborhood. They are not aggressive- but have berm running loose for at least a day. We think they might belong to one of the homeless folks. One is a light gray Pitt mix and the other is a black and tan mix.

Homeless encampments all along the Rail Trail are covering the natural area in garbage and poisoning the creek with waste.
4-5 homeless camps on B-line
There are homeless encampments steadily increasing in number behind my house and those of my neighbors. There are now several in view of my windows. The amount of trash is staggering, including countless hypodermic needles. Trash is regularly set on fire by the residents of the encampments, producing noxious smoke that smells terrible and is surely not safe to breathe. The city needs to do something about these encampments. Open air drug use within feet of neighborhoods with young children should not be tolerated. I've been a resident of Bloomington for a decade and I'm strongly considering moving out of town due to the city's inability to address this issue. Please do something.
Can the city do something about the very large homeless encampments on both sides of switchyard park - B-Line trail near the dog parks. I like to bring my dogs to the dog park, but am uncomfortable with such a big encampment of homeless so close to the park and the kids play grounds as well. There’s a lot of trash blowing around on at both encampments and this afternoon they had open “camp” fires burning. As a single women with my dogs, I have to say I’m very uncomfortable walking my dogs on the B-line in Switchyard park and using the dog park with so many homeless camping in the immediate area of Switchyard park. Dilapidated house, looks like it is going to cave in on itself. Homeless people living in the house, needles on the property, wild bamboo growing on the property in addition to other excessive overgrowth. Needs to be checked out and taken care of immediately.
