Richard Moss - 812-639-2296 Complaint is that the road has a steep incline from the center to the curb. This is causing storm water to not drain and leave behind copious amounts of mud and debris. He would like a call back once this is looked at.
Hi. This area of Maxwell lane needs to be built up a bit higher to help rainwater drain off into the grass. This spot retains water for many days after even a moderate rain. People like to park on the grass which is fair since it’s on the city’s right of way, but it looks bad, splashes pedestrians and bicycles and I think could be improved with a minimal amount of work. The edge of the road just needs a bit of building up so water drains properly. Thanks. Fred Pavalko
Hello! We still have a very bad sewer odor at 210 E. Gilbert. I first reported this issue in November, 2024. It has not been resolved. We tested the water in the creek, and the ph levels are high, indicating sewage in the water. Here is the report below. Please contact me at 812-322-7997. Maryellen May My name is Jessica Will and I am a volunteer for the Adopt-A-Stream program. I usually monitor the Griffy Lake site, but recently learned about water quality concerns in my neighborhood. So, this month, I also tested two sites along the creek running through Matlock Heights and into Cascade Park. I believe there are strong indicators that our creek contains sewage and that sewage is being fed into Cascade Park. Please see results and observations below. Site 1 results pH: 8 Nitrate: 2 Nitrite: 0 Oxygen: 5 Site 2 results pH: 9 Nitrate: 3 Nitrite: 1 Oxygen: 5 Observations Elevated pH and nitrate levels may be indicators of sewage or other contamination. Smells of sewage and detergent were strong at both sites. Several manholes are placed along the stream, suggesting sewer lines run through the creek. Please see attached image for site locations (blue pins). I'm writing to share these results and concerns. I'm also seeking your guidance as to how to get the city involved in additional testing and potential sewage line repair.
One of our Adopt a Stream volunteers did some water testing in the Matlock Heights neighborhood creek. She was prompted to do so because the creek had a sewage and detergent smell to it. The two sites she tested were marked on the map and her results were: Site 1 results pH: 8 Nitrate: 2 Nitrite: 0 Oxygen: 5 Site 2 results pH: 9 Nitrate: 3 Nitrite: 1 Oxygen: 5

I have noticed that past couple of months that there is trash being left or not making it into the dumpster by someone. This is not your normal move out and leave furniture trash. I have been picking it up and dumping it in the trash since it has been drawing animals and insects, and when it rains it washed down into the street. I have included a picture from today. This dumpster does not have an enclosure to make sure trash is mot ending up in the bushes or on the ground and running into the streets or water. Someone in the neighborhood is either missing the dumpster or throwing it next to the dumpster on purpose. There is now broken glass and other dangerous/hazardous items around this dumpster because of it. My observations from the last few weeks of picking it up: The trash will be in plastic or paper grocery bags instead of trash bags. They always have diapers, eaten and uneaten food, canned food opened and unopened, and miscellaneous items like paper, wipes, cardboard, clothing, etc. With it being many instances in broad daylight and where the trash is placed and conditions of the bags, I do not think this is animals dragging the bags from somewhere else. My suspicions are this is a child being send to the dumpster by their parents to throw things out but they cannot reach the height since this is a taller unit. Also, I think it is someone from the granite units at the very ends on the west side of Dorchester, closest to the heritage Dorchester dumpster. First, I have noticed the trash ends up on the ground on the side where the door is closest to the granite units as long as it is open. If it is not, then it is on the other side. Second, I saw kids come from that building and walk to the dumpster and walk around it for a few minutes before they left on Friday. I could see their feet under the carport. I then found a pot with food in it left there when I investigated after they left when there was nothing there earlier. Also, we have valet trash in our units and are expected there use trash bags. I have also seen people from the granite units walk down here and dump their stuff in our trash unit who live on the West side of the street instead of using their own. Over a year ago, new water lines were installed along Brookdale to accommodate a new apartment complex on the west side of Kinser Pike. (Aspen Apts.) That construction dug up parts of the yards of the houses on Brookdale as well as part of the street itself. The street was never repaved and the areas that were covered up with dirt become muddy when it rains.
My cold water was brown this morning at 5am. I couldn't find a boil order.
