The Bloomington Police need to start patrolling the trails (and all of town) for illegal electric motorcycle operation. At 8:35pm on 5/26/2026 I observed an illegal electric motorcycle narrowly miss hitting a pedestrian. The illegal electric motorcycle was traveling south bound on the B-Line from Kirkwood with two people on it at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle has no pedals. It is not a bicycle. The motorcycle did not slow down or stop before crossing 4th Street. A lady was walking from west to east on the sidewalk along the south side of 4th Street. The electric motorcycle was quickly approaching the pedestrian and the lady saw it just in time and was able to stop walking and narrowly miss being hit and severely injured. The illegal motorcycle did not try to avoid the collision. These illegal electric motorcycles cannot use the trail. The operators need to be issued tickets with fines and the motorcycles impounded and not returned. These motorcycles are operating recklessly and dangerously on trails, sidewalks, and streets. Please start removing these from our town before someone is seriously injured or killed by these motorcycles on our trails and sidewalks.

On the berm of the B-line trail, there is a metal strip that keeps the crushed gravel in place. There is a section of the metal strip that has a gash in it. My wife was running on the trail on Tuesday, February 25. Her shoe caught on the metal gash, which caused her to trip and fall. She sustained severe bruises and cuts. Behind the apartments in the alley ways there is an electric station with several trash cans (btown recycling, republic) that have not been emptied for 6 months. The area is obviously not a trash station. This area needs to be cleaned by the city.

The prior uReport was finalized by saying the issue was mitigated. I walked by this morning and it hasn't been mitigated. The missing sidewalk is on the west side of Sare Rd about 200 yards south of Moore's. It's across the street from the Verona Coffee shop. In both the large and small dog parks the obstacles are rotting. There are stacked logs that my dog has loved jumping on/over as part of the obstacle coarse. Last summer those were rotting away and becoming a hazard for any dog to be on. They have further degraded. They are ready to collapse at any point with weight applied, but also the shear amount of wood pieces that could become splintered into a paw is a major health and safety risk to all dogs. I would love to see these replaced and maintenanced on a regular basis to ensure they don’t become a safety hazard. If at all possible some further spacing on the log obstacles would be great as well. They are too close together and cause her to take pause in between jumps to readjust her body before she can jump to the next. Some more space between would allow for a smooth transition from obstacle to obstacle. Thank you so much for all that you do.

I can understand if doing a good job plowing the path around the Winslow sports complex is not the city’s top priority although it is extremely popular and it could be even more so if people who normally walk neighborhoods could rely on good snow removal here. But it is an essential connector for bike and pedestrian travel and access to the #4 bus. Please at least try to make it safe to get all the way from Rock Creek to Highland. Right now there are many sections that are just ice.

Encampment with hostile people living in filth. Defecating and urinating. Just south of dog park. Do something. We spent millions on this park, it is being misused and abused. DO SOMETHING!!!
