They fly across the street, at night, through the crosswalk, no lights, no warning, wearing black. This has happened in front of me three times in the last 6 weeks. I am an extremely safe driver--I actually go the speed limit. I stop feet before the stop line. I look both ways multiple times, even with a green light, yet I almost hit three of them. I hate them, they make the city look cheap. I am from Seattle and have seen how bad that city and the cities surrounding it about 30 miles have gone down in the last 6 years. Bloomington is well on its way to being like those cities, somewhere people will not want to send their kids to college. Scooters is just one more reason to avoid Bloomington. I have a teenage son, 9th grade, and are making college plans, but I don't really want him at IU due to the downtown problems with the homeless and panhandlers, etc.--it's not safe. We are looking at other colleges.

I live at 912 S. Rogers, across the street from a homeless shelter. The lights in the alley behind my house (the alley that runs between Dixie and Dodds streets) are not working. One seems to be burnt out and one is at half power and shuts off every few minutes.

Hello, I manage Winslow Farm Community Association. The owners in Sweetbriar are complaining about homeless living in the woods between their houses and Graham Drive. This area is actually owned by the City - parcels numbers 53-08-09-405-010.000-009 and 53-08-09-405-009.000-009. Could the City please clear out the brush so it's not easy for people to hide here? On August 21st, I reported a homeless camp at Wapehani Park. It was examined and reported back to me that the camp was on private property. I found this quite strange, because it is on a trail that has a difficulty marker at the beginning of the trail. It totally looks like the other trails in the park and there's absolutely no way to tell it's private property. At any rate, the homeless people have moved on and have left a large amount of trash in what I believe is the park. There are probably 15+ large bags worth of trash - clothes, books, pans, papers, etc. My original report was 165599. I really hope someone will look, because I really don't think what I'm describing is on private property. Thanks for your consideration!
