No Walnut St @ 12th and under the railroad bridge: Weeds are extremely overgrown and it's nearly impossible to walk on the sidewalk. This area is ALWAYS overlooked (snow in winter is treacherous!). There are many people who walk this stretch daily to get to the CVS store at 14th and Walnut. It's already a dangerous stretch as cars fly down that hill beginning at 11th St. Add to the mix, the 'trolls' (aka: homeless people) who 'live' under the bridge at times until the area is saturated with a strong urine stench. With all the traffic passing by this location daily, why can't this be better cared for - instead of an eyesore?!

Summer Showcase at the Middle Coast Film Festival in Bloomington, Indiana The Middle Coast Film Festival will be in full swing August 13-15, in downtown Bloomington and there will be a wide assortment of indie presentations. Both shorts and full features will be presented. Co-founders Jessica Levandowski and Chelsea Sanders promised unique premiere features that Indiana film watchers haven’t had an opportunity to see. A Middle Coast Film Festival special guest will be Raymond Rolak, one of the producers of GET A JOB, a full feature comedy from Hawaii. It is an added value showcase as the soundtrack contains 24 original songs, mostly performed by the Barefoot Natives, Willie K and Eric Gilliom. Serendipitously, Gilliom was one of the basketball players in the MGM classic, HOOSIERS. The Indian Pacers will be selecting special games next season to celebrate the 30th anniversary of HOOSIERS, which received two academy awards. GET A JOB will play at the Back Door, Saturday, August 15, at 2:00 p.m. Their transmedia music video ONLY WANNA PARTY will be a film festival premier and features not only the Barefoot Natives but Mick Fleetwood, Pat Simmons and Willie Nelson. www.barefootnatives.com Rolak will be available for a Q & A afterwards and will enlighten how director Brian Kohne wove the youth oriented music soundtrack, (YOM), into this laugh-out-loud comedy. He also promised to address inexpensive ways for IU students to attend the Maui Invitational Basketball Tournament to support the Hoosiers basketball team. Indiana basketball will travel to Maui, Hawaii for three games in as many days, Nov. 23-25, to participate in one of the premier preseason college basketball tournaments. http://www.middlecoastfest.com/

Potholes, Other Street Repair

Case Date:

I noticed you are going to be doing sidewalk work in our neighborhood...The Stands..specifically the Ashwood area. There is a dangerous spot on the sidewalk right at the Stands Drive and Pierson court...north side of the street about 4 rectangles in from the corner. The block is elevated way off of the ground and is a dangerous hazard. Don't know if you can fit this in with the other work you are doing in this area. Thanks for your consideration. Also the sidewalk, in numerous places, on the west side of the Stands drive between Ashwood Drive and Ashwood Lane is crumbling.

This is a follow up on the derelict house on W. 6th Street. The location is between Pine and Adams on the south side of the street. It is a Yellow house.
