I had called the sanitation dept phone number this morning as our yard waste can wasn't collected this week. After listening the to the message about yard waste on the phone automated machine I realized I wasn't sure if pumpkins were collected or if I was over weight on the re usable can. I called to connect to a representative and I regret I didn't get the gentleman's name at aprox 0755 am on 4 dec. He was extremely helpful and I was looking for a place to leave a compliment for dept employees. I don't want to say the bar is low because it devalues my intent but I really appreciate the person answered the phone promptly, inquired into my problem, and immediately offered a solution all while being polite and professional. I wanted to say thanks and thank the employee for their civil service. I'd prefer this not be part of public record or anonymized if used as such. Need to snow removal
A request for snow removal practices going forward. The location is where South Morton ends at the Convention Center overflow parking lot. Vehicle traffic is stopped by three yellow bollards, but many pedestrians and cyclists use this road to enter the B-line from Morton St. In past winters, snow plows push the snow into a large pile that entirely blocks off the end of S Morton St, so even pedestrians can't pass through. In the past, I have shoveled a pathway through, but it takes hours depending on the size of the pile and how frozen it is, and I have to redo it every time plows come through, and I go through at least 5 snow shovels per year since they break from the amount of snow I need to move. Now I have a back issue, so I can no longer shovel a path through. Can you please coordinate snow plowing so that the end of S Morton is not entirely blocked? Maybe a smaller plow (like they use on the B-line) could work with the larger plows to keep the path as open as possible. Thank you.
Sidewalks left unshovled are causing dangerous conditions for pedestrian on or off the sidewalk.
