This is Rebekah Deckard responding to the email on people making it difficult for me to get in vehicles of those who come to pick me up to go places to not only being physically disabled but legally blind. I attempted to reply to the email on there being a parking pad cancaretakers (I have help besides caretakers. Ex: rides to church) not pick me up there. I am certain I stated how all park in the front to the house being on the corner intersecting with two roads it is on a slope/ hill. So the driveway is very difficult for me. When some have parked there (to my front entrance of sidewalk very close to it being blocked basically) the door of the passenger side I am in almost shuts on my leg. I am also 4'10" so this makes things more difficult to most do not have smaller lower sitting vehicles I can just step out of.. in fact sometimes I must use a step stool type device to get into the vehicle. As well as the steps to enter the back pose a risk of my falling. I request others not use the back entrance to the storm door is off balance so it does not close properly. Despite maintenance trying to remedy this. Again, I was certain I stated why I do not use the entrance with the driveway in my original contact. As stated already as well, I tried to reply to the email on thisbonnthe 22. It was returned to me.ni have had medical appointments the past two days so had no time to be online much. My husband is wheelchair bound and exercises during the day wheelchairing in our neighborhood. We have lived in Gentry Honours for 12 years. The sidewalks on our street-Coriander Court-have gotten progressively bumpier. My husband has fallen out of his chair three times with injuries. Strangers have helped him. Once an ambulance was called and he had to go to IU Health Emergency Room. The sidewalks in our neighborhood have been ground down to a more level path but not our street. I phoned the Street Department in May asking when South Coriander Ct could be scheduled for grinding and was told the grinding was completed in our neighborhood but they would review the job. My husband has also begun to wheelchair in the streets now, which is not safe either. Can you help us with grinding in our area? On our dead end cul de sac, I have taken 27 photos of the raised sidewalks. I am only including one here. Share your response with me when you are able. Best, Marianne Woodruff

We have a lot of problems with our building, including automatic doors not working, trash disposal problems and maintenance issues. There are dozens of light bulbs out on each floor. Pivotal, the company out of Ohio who bought the property last year, has had staffing issues that have caused numerous problems and bills not getting paid like trash removal and landscaping for mowing. The Fire Marshal found issues with the elevator and I have no idea if they have been corrected. Many of the residents have mobility problems and they need the front and back lobby doors working properly. This company is notorious with retaliatory evictions which I understand is illegal in Indiana. People are afraid to complain for this reason. Two property managers have walked off the job in the past 2 weeks and our maintenance guy is worthless. Please help us get these issues fixed asap! The trash issue is fast getting out of control. Original ticket number #177138 closed but never addressed so I created a follow up ticket (#177261) which was closed, marked Resolved. So, how can aticket be marked Resolved when the original ticket was never addressed? How about just ticketing and towing the cars that are parking in the no parking area and blocking the handicap ramp and many times going in the working direction? It is a hazard to enter Driscoll from Walnut.

The sidewalk at third and Madison connecting Madison to the b-line trail and crossing the street is currently unshoveled, and road access for handicap individuals on that corner is blocked by plow created embankments. Please have someone come out to shovel and salt these asap as a friend reliant on a mobility scooter in my apartment complex is unable to access groceries/basic needs via the b line trail due to this issue. In addition to this, I’m sure there are more people experiencing this in more spots around the city. I’m not sure what can be done proactively, but is seems that the city has a deep enough well of contractors to subcontract out shoveling/salt on sidewalks critical for access to Bloomington’s disabled population.
