I received a phone call from a resident of the Near West Side neighborhood, who wanted the City to know how much he appreciated the Brighten B-Town crew that was recently working on his street. They cleaned up the yard in front of a vacant home and edged and cleaned the cracks in the sidewalks up and down the block. The resident frequently walks in his neighborhood, and has noticed improvements throughout.
Kudos to the Public Works department!

Says reflectors were requested for 6th & Rogers calming device, but instead large signs were installed. Signs are overkill. Can't we change this?

Hello. I have a question regarding parking. I frequent a business across the street from FAR (Fourth and Rogers Center for the Contemporary Arts). The owners of FAR have contacted the owner of the business I frequent and have stated that her customers cannot park in front of the glass garage doors (see the attached photos) as it is private property. Instead, we should use the parking lot in back of the building where the business I frequent is housed (the old Bloomington DMV). However, there are no signs or markers to indicate that this is private property. Sometimes when an event is being held, there will be signs taped to the glass garage doors warning people not to park there. However, most of the time, there are no signs. Is parking allowed here? Can I be towed/ticketed if I park there and there is nothing to indicate that this is private property? I appreciate your clarification on this! Thanks, Sarah
