This report is in reference to serious overgrowth on a City right-of-way on the corner of N. Oolitic St. and W. 11th St. The property that this right-of-way is connected to is 1508 W. 11th St. The owner of this property is/was Joseph E. Day. However, he is recently deceased. At this time, the property is in the process of repossession by BB&T Bank. I know that in usual circumstances, Joe may have been responsible for the care of this area. However as I stated, he is now deceased. I have been trying to contact BB&T Bank - I actually may have an interest in purchase of the property since I own the vacant adjoining lots - but have gotten absolutely no response. In the mean time, the overgrowth on the City right-of-way that is on the west edge of his property is growing out into Oolitic St, has grown to the point of obscuring the speed limit sign, and is covering a fire hydrant. I am hoping that, given the circumstances, the City could come and mow/cut/clear that area. The main backyard is inside a fence, but this small section along Oolitic St has been left outside the fence. Thank you, Anthony Eller

The bike lane on Lincoln between Fourth and Kirkwood, opposite the new construction at the southwest corner of Kirkwood and Lincoln never got fixed up after the construction at the southeast corner. So there is a seam running the length of it making it be at two different levels. Because of the construction, the street is really narrow there, but the bike lane is half unusable. This is a dangerous situation and the bike lane there should be fixed.

An anonymous complainant alerted the Solid Waste District about "illegal dumping" of ash wood, as well as concrete and trash at this location. We did a quick inspection and found wood and other materials piled on the ground at the property. Additionally there is a trailer that appears to contain household waste, and there is trash around one of the buildings (on Allen Street side). East University Street between Jordan and Eastside is in pretty bad shape - lots of potholes, general disrepair, it's difficult to traverse (the absolute worst of it is right at Jordan and University). I see another part of East University Street is slated for paving in July, it would be really great if you could just keep going across all of East University Street! (There is also currently a water leak issue at Eastside and University which we reported last night that's going to cause additional road damage). Genuine thanks for all you do!
