I am writing to report a broken tree limb that poses a safety concern. It appears that the limb was damaged during the storm we experienced at the end of March 2023. The tree in question is located on city land outside of my property boundary at 1301 W. 8th Street in Bloomington. The broken limb is specifically situated at the intersection of Adams Street and 8th Street, where there is a significant amount of pedestrian traffic. The footpath visible in the attached picture is frequently used by pedestrians crossing from the sidewalk on Adams Street onto 8th Street. The presence of the broken tree limb in this area creates a potential safety hazard for pedestrians. Additionally, there is a slight concern that the broken limb obstructs the view of the Adams Street bridge for drivers turning right onto Adams Street from Fountain. This obstruction may affect the visibility of oncoming traffic, potentially leading to traffic incidents or delays. I kindly request that the relevant department of Bloomington takes immediate action to address this issue. It is crucial to ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists in the area by removing the broken tree limb and conducting any necessary tree maintenance or inspection. On the bridge over Patterson Dr. on the B-Line there are 4 square B-line steel signs. In the recent winds, one of these has come loose and become bent. If there is more wind, which there will as it is almost spring, the remaining two connections may also become loose. It appears to me that the screws mounting the sign to the structure are not long enough. The sign then blowing and dropping makes for a very unsafe situation as it is 15 feet above the ground, sidewalk and road.

The crest of the hill on 8th street has inadequate lighting. People on the sidewalk are invisible for security purposes, and cannot see obstacles to walk safely. A neighbor hit my car door because he could not see it. People leave their porch lights on all night, so we have some visibility.
