I would like to thank the city of Bloomington for their professional assistance in helping me avoid a significant problem at my home during the recent snap of epic cold weather. It all began with frozen water pipes when I failed to keep a small stream of water running in my city townhouse; there was no excuse on my part for the mistake. To make matters worse, I needed to catch a flight out of town later that day. This is where the city came to the rescue. I quickly and easily found the city utility web site and created a work ticket from the easy to follow instructions. Literally within minutes, a highly trained and cordial city employee called me and walked me through the steps I needed to take to reduce any potential damage to my water pipes. Only minutes later, a two person team arrived and worked in zero degree weather and quickly turned off the water at the meter. They went so far as to reassure me that they would be back soon after I got back to town and to just give them a call. Despite the near zero temperature, they never once complained about the outdoor working conditions. I was impressed. When I got back to town, I created another work ticket, and the customer service process repeated itself, leading to a perfect resolution to the problem. MR. SHIDE STATES THAT HIS YARD FLOODS DUE TO THE CHANGE IN THE TERRAIN IN THE LAURELWOOD SUBDIVISION. WITH THIS LAST RAIN HIS ELETRIC TRANSFORMER & CABLES WERE COVERED UP WITH WATER CAUSING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. HE DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM UNTIL WININGER STOLBERG CHANGED THE TERRAIN.
