I live at 1009 S. Lincoln St., and running in a perpendicular line to the street from our water access, at the house edge of the sidewalk, there's a big hole. It seems to go below the sidewalk a little. I'm not sure if I should just fill it in, or if it is indicative of a larger problem that should be addressed. I'd love a little guidance from the experts! Spring has started and the outdoor smoke coming from the Barbecue is in full force at the Short Stop food-mart on North Smith Road. My wife and I had three meetings with the City Council about this issue in 2015. And 2 recorded meetings with the council as a whole and a second meeting a few weeks later. The smoke issue was to be addressed for this location. But Chris Smith sold the store without implementing the standards the City Council had requested he perform. He was supposed to install and indoor smoker by December of (2015) that never happened. And he then sold the business in spring of 2016. As an example of how bad this smoke is. I hung wet laundry outside yesterday (Wednesday 4-25-18). Hoping for that nice fresh air smell when it was dry. Our clothing smelled like we had been next to a campfire. So I had to rewash all of the clothing. This has become a HUMAN HEALTH hazard and it has not been taken seriously. The city did nothing after our meetings to address SMOKE issues from cooking outdoors. I really hate to call the Fire department each time I smell smoke. As the cost to the city will be ridiculous for putting out (3) outdoor smokers. But that is what I am going to start doing. As we cannot breath. She had a lung removed and everyone is turning a blind eye towards this fact. Let me know what the city can do. Our district representative Allison Chopra was at the meetings as she was running for office and won the election. But I was told she had slept since the meetings and did not remember the restrictions placed on the smoke issue. There are several city tree's growing out of the side walk that are touching the building at 108 East 6th street that need to be trimmed back.
the western end of Morningside Drive--west of Smith Road--has long been unsafe because there are no sidewalks. There are several families with young children, many residents walking dogs and walking to the park, and sidewalks would greatly improve general safety. thanks.
Improperly parked scooter blocking access for people with disabilities
I would like to request sidewalks/speed bumps on Elliston Dr. in Sherwood Oaks Neighborhood. Elliston is the main thourough fair to Sherwood Oaks Park, Jackson Creek Trail and Olcott Park, which also leads to Childs Elementary and Jackson Creek Middle School. There is significant foot traffic daily of adults, kids and pets being walked. Children go to school on this route and yet there is nothing provided to keep them safe. There are currently no sidewalks to keep foot traffic safe and no speed bumps to slow down traffic. People speed through this area whether local traffic or visitors to the park and what the city has done to date is not enough. Someone is going to get hurt and it will be on the onus of those who have chose to do nothing to keep pedestrians safe. Please consider making a change and putting sidewalks/speed bumps in to allow for safe travels for all in this area. Thank you

Lots of smokers at the park and splash pad. No signs saying no smoking. No signs saying smoking in parks is illegal.
I am currently attending the virtual City of Bloomington Board of Park Commissioners meeting via Zoom. I am disappointed by the city’s negligence to make this meeting more accessible for those with hearing barriers. Why don’t ALL virtual city meetings have closed captions and/or live signing?
I've noticed that the uReport system no longer shows the text of the updates made. There are only dates and words like "open" and "assignment" and "closed." Citizens cannot see what the City has said or reported about these uReports. There are no details on who is working on the case, what is being done, etc. Is there a reason why this information has gone away and transparency is now lost?
