my email to constituent explained the issues
Other: The picture is at the SW corner of Pickwick and Winfield. The grade of both Pickwick and Winfield cause water to pool at the SW corner every time it rains. The water stands for several days, especially in the corner of our yard. The problem is made worse by the curbs that have been added north of this corner. Someone from the city did come out and look at it and admitted there was a problem several years ago. We have called repeatedly and can't get any action. As we are reminded, this is a health hazard since it is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Please help.

I found out that the curb was actually installed by the Street Dept in response to erosion complaints. Unfortunately the work they did limits our options for eliminating the ponding on the SW corner. I sent the following email to Ms Schick: I received your submission through the City's Ureport expressing concern about the water ponding at the SW corner of Pickwick Pl and Winfield Rd. I just wanted to let you know I have looked at it but don't have a viable solution at this time. Our records indicate there is a storm pipe under Pickwick Pl but it has been covered over, and unfortunately, even if we uncover or replace it, the curb and trees on the north side of the intersection prevent us from re-establishing the ditch. I am going to work with our storm superintendent to see if we can develop an adequate solution. Please feel free to contact me if you have additional information or questions.
I discovered Dan Backler is working on a complaint about the trees which someone planted in the ditch at the NW corner of the intersection. I emailed Dan to find out what information he has because I don't think the city installed the curb and I think the curb and trees need to be removed to help resolve this complaint.
I visited the site and need to do some research on the curb installation as our GIS shows a storm pipe exists under Pickwick which I could not find.
Not sure who the previous complaints have been submitted to or who has been out previously on this complaint.
