Drainage or Runoff: Comment

Email: Ms Dwyer contacted me last week and I met her at her house this morning. She is concerned about a sinkhole forming in her yard again and the amount of water that ponds on the south side of her house. This is a historical problem. We made some storm improvements in the alley east of her last year and hoped that would help solve some of her problems but she still has issues and would like to know what she can do. I told her I have asked our crews to video the storm sewer that runs along her yard to make sure the pipe is sound. I told her I would also check our sanitary sewer videos to make sure the sanitary sewer is sound. I explained I would be out of the office for about a week and would get back with her in a couple weeks to let her know what we have found.

There is no evidence the sink hole is caused by CBU infrastructure.

I just sent the following email to Ms Dwyer: I am just following up on this complaint. We have checked both the sanitary sewer and the storm sewer in this location and do not find any evidence of infiltration into either system so we do not believe CBU infrastructure is causing the sinking. I'm sorry that we cannot help any further with this issue. Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns.

I checked the sanitary sewer video information we have and this sewer main was lined in 2007 and we do not show any evidence of infiltration. I also received information from our storm video technician that he checked the storm sewer in this location and does not see any evidence of infiltration into the pipe. I will get back with Ms Dwyer to see if she continues to have problems but at this point, it does not seem to be related to any CBU infrastructure.
