Sidewalk & Curb Complaints:

Other: Lack of curb from Smith Ave where it boarders my property is leading to water run off as it runs down Jackson St to collect on the back of my property. My husband and have put in a lot of time cleaning up this area from previous owner over-growth. The soft ground, combined with lack of curb is causing the property to erode away and cars to run off the edge of the road causing Smith to deteriorate. The area is strip about 30 ft long. If something could be done about this or to change how people turn right of Jackson onto Smith it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Russell, I've tried to talk to Andrew about this one but he is really busy and we missed each other. Thought maybe you could look into a solution. We could bring storm sewer over from Fairview but I think we need curb on the south side to direct the water into the storm sewer. My concern was that Smith is too narrow for curb. I believe you guys need to decide if you are going to curb it or not and we can work with you on bring storm sewer over if you do. Feel free to reassign this to someone else at P&T if you aren't the right person.

What was the verdict on this one Andrew, was wondering if the south side could be curbed? I know in the past P&T has been concerned with a narrow street having curb and constricting the travel lane down. I think this portion of smith needs a curb.

We will investigate the options here. Curb along will likely not solve all the issues as there is stormwater coming down Jackson that needs to be addressed. We will look to see if storm sewer can be brought over from Fairview.
