Phone Call: Frequent visitor to Building Trades Park reported many issues while setting up for a Labor Day family picnic. Two homeless men sleeping under the shelter and one sleeping on the ramp. Two homeless men locked themselves into the bathrooms for 30+ minutes, making the bathrooms inaccessible to anyone else. Left the bathrooms a wet mess, threw up on the side of the building. Visitor called police (non-emergency) and left after 35 minutes when police still hadn't shown up -- moved her family picnic to another location.
BPD was advised of this incident and concern.
Caller suggested that BPD 3rd shift officers watch for sleepers in the park....
