Our staff regularly monitor our park properties and work closely with local law enforcement and our private security contractors (MSI) to address these issues. However, our team manages a large number of parks, trails, and facilities throughout the city, and staff cannot be present at every location at all times. For that reason, it is very helpful when residents report illegal activity directly to the Bloomington Police Department as it occurs. Timely reports help officers respond appropriately and better understand where additional patrols may be needed. If you encounter discarded needles or other hazardous materials, please report their location to our department so trained staff can safely remove them.
