Web Form: Referencing Case#169529 I'm sorry. I realize the situation of the owner, but it has been a long time. Swifter action would have been taken in another part of the City. That is not fair or equitable to other property owners living in the area. This vehicle fits under the city ordinance definition of "abandoned," and, while it is on private property, is in violation, because it sits in clear view of the public. Thank you.

City Municipal Code (15.04.020) requires that the vehicle be mechanically inoperable, which has not actually been established at this point. The owner is working to remove items from the vehicle so it can be removed, and the Neighborhood Resource Specialists are working with the owner to accommodate that, so no further action will be taken as of yet. The owner is taking steps to correct the problem and is making a conscientious effort to address the issue.
