City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Resolved #172131

Sidewalk & Curb Complaints:

Other: This has been ongoing for awhile and it's only getting worse and bricks loosen up and gravel is scattered. It's now less than 36" meaning that it doesn't pass ADA standards to be wide enough. It needs to be fixed before somebody falls and sues the City!

Well, Dave did say he talked to Lee about a new tree going in there. When there was a grate there the 36" minimum was met. Now that the grate is gone, it's no longer 36". Just wanted to let you know what I know. Thanks.

Hey Adam. Yeah, Dave W. said there would be a tree to replace it. But that was months ago and it's has lost a row of bricks now and has become much more dangerous. There were cones that I asked to be put on it, but those disappear a few weeks after. When there was a grate on it, it was more than 36" but no longer, besides being unsafe. Just hope the red flag I'm throwing up will help us avoid something going sideways.

Michael - I went and found the site that you have pictured here. This is a tree plot where the tree was removed, so the distance that you measured has not changed in recent years. I'm trying to find out if a replacement tree is going to be planted or not.
