uReport

City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Resolved #193116

Trails:

Other: Is there a way to protect pedestrians/bikers on the B-Line Trail by adding retractable bollards or something on the yellow painted line by intersections so that cars don't mistake the trail for a road? Thank you in advance for working towards a solution that will help improve the safety of all.

Thanks for this report. The B-Line originally had bollards at these locations that were removed at the request of and because of some danger to cyclists. Instead, the planters and limestone blocks are meant to restrict turns onto the B-Line and signal to drivers that is is not the road. Nonetheless, we do get the occasional driver on the trail and work to mitigate that. We will continue to explore concerns like this via the city's Bike and Pedestrian Safety Commission.
