Per further discussion with complainant, the light has been turned off and the property appears to be vacant. Will be closing this case out for now. If the light becomes an issue again in the future, Planning staff will measure the light intensity at night for compliance with shielding requirements and light trespass limits.

Planning staff investigated during the day yesterday and observed a light on near the front door, but it appeared to by the standard type of low-intensity house light that does not typically require full shielding. I will add it to the list of lights to investigate at night to take a light trespass reading and measure the intensity. If it meets the exemptions for low-intensity lighting, it is not required to be shielded and it is not required to be turned off during the day.
