Water Quality: Request
Phone Call: Customer called on 6/24/98 and talked to Craig Abbott in the lab at Dillman. She stated that her water had a "gasoline" like odor. She further stated that a new "gas line" had recently been installed but that it was for a city gas hook-up and should not have been a problem. On followup visit by SG, customer advised again that problem began when a repair was made to the Indiana Gas feed line on South side of the residence. Property is owned by Claudia Green 824-7521.

Visit was made to customer's residence. No taste or odor was detected in cold water CL2 = 2.5 ppm. An odor was detected in the hot water. Customer was advised to have hot water heater flushed. 7/13/98 - test results returned: found Benzene at above MCL in customer's samples. Sample of CBU water at fire hydrant was Non Detect. SG visited customer on 7/13/98. Advised customer of sample finding. Set up resample for 7/14/98 -also samples to be collected at neighbors on lots 8 & 10 and hydrants. 7/13/98 left message with customer's landlord to contact SG. 7/14/98 has not returned call (tried again) no answer. 7/14/98 advised Mrs Polly to drink bottle water until we get results back from 2nd round of samples taken today. Employees at Randy's Garage across street said they drink water, but have noticed no taste.
