Made visit to customer's residence to look at problem, White calcium sediments present in aerator of kitchen sink and master bathroom hot water. Sediments vary in size from about the size of a pencil point to perhaps 4 times that size. Customer has a water softner. Check calcium and total hardness. Both tested at 0 (zero) hardness. Suspect that softned water may be eroding calcium deposits from interior plumbing. The deposits are not being seen in the areas added to house in recent remodel. 01/12/98. Customer left voice mail over weekend asking for return call. Monday 01/12/98 returned customers call. Customer flushed hot water heater. Water from water heater was clear. However, their was air in lines when turned back on. Water to laundry room seems to be clogged up and won't come through. In course of conversation customer said he had recently put in a water softner. This may be source of problem. Soft water may be disolving scale in hot water heater.
