The property needs to be inspected by a City official and repaired or condemned. Under Bloomington Municipal Code Chapter 17.16, a building is considered unsafe if it is: Structurally Impaired: Posing a danger to persons or neighboring property. Unsanitary: Lacking adequate ventilation, light, or sanitation to protect health. Observing this property over the last 18 months, there has been no change in this property, except that the condition is getting worse. Locals state the home has been in derelict conditions for many years. Damaged roof. A tarp does not constitute a roof. There is no ventilation in the house or working exhausts. Windows do not open/close. No heating or cooling in the structure. Dangerous electrical resulting in the occasional use of a small light. No plumbing in the structure. Resident carries buckets of water from nearby and can be seen washing his hair and body outside of his front porch. No functional bathroom inside the home. Occupant cannot flush waste properly. The entire place appears to be a fire hazard. Evidence of structural fire damage that may also impact the electrical and plumbing concerns. Overgrowth vegetation and weeds. Inoperable vehicles in front and behind the unsafe structure. The severe neglect of this property is diminishing the quality of life for the community and hindering its overall desirability. The dilapidated condition of the property presents a substantial public eyesore and poses a detriment to the neighborhood character. Please take action to keep Bloomington beautiful and avoid causing a serious decline in neighborhood standards for the entire City of Bloomington.

The ceiling has water damage and has had this since move in it was first pointed out by Britney King the property manager upon our walkthrough. Since moving in about 7 months ago this is continuously gotten worse and has not been repaired. This water is actively dripping as of today onto my counter

I am reporting a concern regarding the townhome unit adjacent to mine. I have been informed/observed that the electricity in that unit has been off for an extended period (several months). Because the units are connected, I am concerned that lack of utilities and maintenance in the neighboring unit may be contributing to building-wide issues, including moisture, water intrusion, or other structural concerns affecting my unit. There has already been water damage and active moisture concerns in my unit, and I want to ensure the adjacent unit is inspected to determine whether it is contributing to these conditions. I am requesting that the neighboring unit be inspected for maintenance, utility status, and any conditions that could impact surrounding units. -This house/property has been unoccupied for the ENTIRE ~20 years that I have lived on the adjacent property at 2618 S Milton Dr. -The house is deteriorating. No maintenance has been done to the house for ~10 years. -The garage, as you can see from the pic, is dilapidated and likely on the verge of collapsing. -The back yard has been growing wild/is with no maintenance for ~10 years, with a large portion being a thicket of Locust and other small trees. -There are very large Silver Maple trees that are a significant hazard to neighboring properties. -The garage, area under the decaying deck, etc. are almost certainly providing shelter for rats, racoons, skunks, groundhogs, etc. The blight seen here is unacceptable in Broadview which has become more a very nice, presentable neighborhood in the 20 years I have lived here.

Despite the BHA making multiple efforts to ask the resident in 918 to stop allowing multiple guests to chainsmoke cigarettes and other "combustible materials" given that this is a non-smoking building, I have a documented medical issue, and the presence of oxygen tanks, the resident in 918 continues to allow guests to smoke. The office offered to transfer me to a different unit, but upon receiving the key after signing the lease, the unit had serious water damage and heavy mold. I am not able to move into the new unit until those issues are addressed. Resident in 918 continues to allow smoking day and night, high foot traffic, and sits with his door open all day waiting for me to come and go so he can make comments to try to get a reaction out of me in retaliation for the previous report. This is a follow-up to that previous report. Thank you.b

the gutter above my front door has been hanging off the building for weeks and my landlord has yet to fix it. it has been dropping nails and causes water to flood my entrance. the issue continues to worsen each day. it’s a large gutter and i’m afraid it could fall and hurt myself or my neighbors.

The owner of this building has, for more than a year, failed to maintain this building in a sanitary condition. When we had high winds on March 15, 2026, I discovered materials blown into my lawn that contained what looked to have asbestos in it. The property owner has also left his property to accumulate mold and an obscene amount of trash and fails to do basic upkeep without me filing reports with the City. At some points I believe I’ve seen rodents on the property. This is beyond just annoying and ugly; it’s actually hazardous to our neighbors’ health.
